Just wanna say your vids are awesome I’ve been following along following everything with sprig to the T! My pup is like sprigs twin! Only thing is why not use “place” so in the field you already have that command established? It would seem weird to say “kennel” in a duck blind when you putting him in place. Is it simple to change the command word down the road?

Someone mentioned I should place train my dog to help them with going out in public. I am aware of how this would work for going to their bed or other location but how would this be applicable to taking them to a mall or restaurant?

Great video v intersting. Do the dogs not find it confusing that u r asking them to get off the bed after rewarding them for being in the bed? They get the treat for doing as u want then they get taken off?

Thanks for watching! We are working on teaching him to get on the bed, so he needs more opportunities to repeat that behavior. He shows he is understanding that getting on the bed is what earns him a reward, not necessarily for staying on the bed at this point. So asking him to repeat the behavior that earned him a reward shouldn't be confusing, it is just offering him more opportunities to get rewarded.

Got an 8-week GSP. Proving to be pretty difficult to train. Very smart, but pretty sassy. Any recommendations or videos of yours that may be useful? We've had GSPs in the past and they were just super trainable. She's from a great breeder, It's just the sass that is throwing me off.

So I have a 10 week old puppy and he has been doing great with here, sit, and kennel. However, he has decided that he wants to bark a lot before he makes his way to where we are place training him. I don’t mark when he is barking. He’ll bark, I ignore, he’ll realize he needs to go to his “kennel” and then I’ll mark. Should I continue to just ignore the barking prior to him getting to his place or do you have any other suggestions?
