It looks different because you chose basic mode, the advanced mode is identical to the full MPC Daw with the only difference being track limit of 8.

I wonder if akai will be making more mpc controllers, i feel like there must be something else coming and this free stripped down software is an introduction. When Akai dropped the mpc element it came with a stripped down version of the software. My prediction is maybe an mpc one controller only version that'll go for about $300. Cool beat btw bro!! 👏 got me with those horn like sounds.

Maybe an MPC touch 2 is in the pipe somewhere. It definitely seems like it could happen. I didn’t expect it to connect to the MPC because it wasn’t listed in the device list when I first started the program.

On a guess I would say it does but it does not list ANY of the MPCs as compatible devices.

Your MPC X comes with the full MPC Daw included so you dont actually need MPC Beats.

You can get this software free right now and test it out without spending $700-$2200 for a MPC hardware device.

Andre Emanuel yes it can. You can draw in notes with the pencil tool if you want to. I’m not sure about QWERTY keyboard functionality as far as playing notes but they do work for certain functions.

Its free however they're gonna make a lot of money selling sample packs and mpk minis with this also once you learn this you can jump into a standalone unit with ease.

i feel like MPC 2.X is about to be discontinued for the MPC 3.0 which might be completely different. that’s the only reason i see them doing this.

CopparacciBeats that is very possible. It is currently on 2.8 so it should be soon anyway. Even so the MPC Beats software is also 2.8. It is just limited to 8 tracks and only two audio tracks I believe.

No they want a DAW to includ with there midi products instead of using Abalten lite. They decided they have nothing to loose by giving this software away free. Dont forget they sell expansion packs.

how do i map my mpc live to the beats software

I just had the MPC X in controller mode and it connected and mapped automatically. I didn't do anything. I selected my MPK Mini II for use.
