Amazing stuff Brian. One question: unlike your other programs, this one seems more of a high volume program instead of strength based. We don't go beyond 70% and have a conventional heavy set. What have you experienced in terms of strength gain / loss when following this program for an extended period? Thanks!

I've followed Brian for the past year, this workout is great. I have kids and this gets me in and out in no time. Sure I'm not pushing the heaviest weight, but the feeling of not having enough wind and lifting again makes me feel good (weights + cardio component). Love the program so far. I also did the "just figure it out as you go method" instead of 1rep max percentage. Some days you think you're strong, and then halfway through you're like (damn too heavy, drop set!)

As other users said, you seem to be looking much better in recent videos - a sign of things on the mend. Tony Dickinson keep it up mate, you will notice it becomes grip dependant as the weight increases. Since Brian uses the H M L loads during the week, I use straps on heavy days for when my grip is holding me back, then go without straps on lighter and medium days.

Recently jumped on this program, it's been fun so far. If you find the first sets easy I suggest you throw in a few pullups or core-work and you're gonna take that back for sure. Also, if you have time you can add some giant-set-style bodybuilding/isolation exercises at the end of your workout. The best part is it can still be done in less than an hour if you don't f around. Thanks, Brian!!

Yet another incredible gem; thank you for this! If I may make one suggestion that has nothing to do with the program, it would be to replace the word "however" with the word "and." For example, instead of saying "the price point is $450, however it is..." you could say "the price point is $450, and it is an extreme amount of...." I know it doesn't seem like much, but it will make the whole narrative a bit more positive in nature. Beyond all of that, I really look forward to trying this program out!

I've been doing a full body workout 3 times a week with a move list similar to Arnold's golden six but with front squat and curl is substituted as barbell row instead. I tend to do 2 different antagonistic moves simultaneously like you've been doing Brian, e.g. bench + row, overhead press + pull ups. It's been working great for me. Definitely gonna give this one a try as well! Thanks for your tips and great content Brian.

I actually did something like this recently for 4 weeks, AMRAP (as many reps as possible) within a set time with a goal rep of 20 for each exercise (week 1 was hitting singles for a total of 10-12 reps on each exercise; week 2 was hitting doubles, week 3 triples, etc.) Lower body day 8 minutes per exercise. Upper body day 6 or 7 minutes per exercise. It’s taxing, exhausting. But incredibly fun. Warmup, then hit a heavy one rep weight for each exercise to start, then drop the weight and start the clock for my AMRAP set. Weight stayed the same for all four weeks, progression was simply increasing reps (even if I hit more than 20 reps). Fourth week hit mini weight PRs for all exercise.

Hey Brian, first off I love your videos and you give so much motivation! And for the question: I have studied that training conditioning can affect muscle development and that the best thing would be to separate strength and conditioning to different days but I have noticed you always put it as part of the workout, so do you think one is better than the other or is it more of a time saving thing, like people wouldn't do the extra day? Would love to hear your thoughts on the matter. Keep up the great work!
@BrianAlsruheOfficial5 жыл бұрын
It really depends on which studies you decide to read. But the reason why I train like this is because there is no real life situation where the two aren’t mixed other than something like a powerlifting competition. I’m not training for a bodybuilding show or a powerlifting competition or even really a strong man competition at this point. I’m training for real life stuff and I find that when hard things are asked of you it is never one or the other. So I guess it just depends on your goals and what you are training for

@mastodon244 жыл бұрын
Good morning Brian, is there a particular reason you deadlift earlier in the week than squat? Is that because I’m strongman the deadlift is more commonly and event than a squat-thereby you treat squat more as an assistance movement? I typically squat first such that my lower back isn’t fatigued by deadlifting. Second question: have you considered putting squat assistance work on deadlift days and vice versa? Giving you a similar effect of higher frequency? Thanks!
@mastodon244 жыл бұрын
Or are you front loading the week with the greatest intensities (bench and deadlift) per upper lower and finishing out the week with lower intensities (press and squat)?
@Gonzo_Sec5 жыл бұрын
After the 9 weeks I’m assuming you can just add 10 lbs to squats and dead’s and 5 to all other lifts and go again?
@bloodypommelstudios71445 жыл бұрын
Those percentages sound low but with the number of sets and rate of work it's actually pretty nuts. If you're about 6ft and have a 230kg deadlift then the wave 3 light day has you putting an average of 70-75 watts of work in to the bar over a 10 minute period and this is ignoring the mass of your own body which you're also moving which would probably put the total over 100 watts. Elite marathon runners only sustain about 150 watts. Note this is purely mechanical output, the total energy your body uses would be a lot higher than that.
@scorchrp68715 жыл бұрын
What do you think about partial reps? Do you use them? Half squats and bench, rack pulls, 1 and 1 half reps etc? Do they carryover to full range? And would you ever suggest bench press and pull ups or bent over rows and ohp? Not the same plane of motion but was wondering if it's a big deal
