Free VR Template to Start any Project in Unity

Here is some more info on how to open this project ! 1) Go To github.com/ValemVR/VR-Game-Jam-Template 2) Click on Code > Download Zip and wait 3) Unzip The Package 4) Open Unity Hub, Click On the top right "Open" button navigate to where your project until you see the Asset,Logs,Projects Settings... Folders and click on open 5) Open it with any version of Unity Above 2021, 2021.3 is recommended. 6) wait... 7) Project should open without error, you can go to the Scene folder in the Project window and double click on either the "Start Scene" or the "Game Scene" to have a look at what's inside. 8) ??? 9) Profit !

as Valem would say, perfect!. i'd like to replace the door model with my own fbx files, but keep all the functionality exactly as is. i've spend a day on this and got nowhere, if i replace the mesh from the frame (no problem) and the door (big problem) i get weird behavior. i've tried recreating DoorLocked using the same hierarchy and scripts, but that that give me weird results on the hinge join. any advice please? thanks

How to run this project through a VIVE pro headset? I also tried to run it using a Quest Pro headset. But nothing is coming either in VIVE, or Quest Pro. Any help will be highly appreciated.

i have meta quest 2. running the project with default settings gives strange result. pixels on edges causes eyes pain. this can be solved with anti aliasing settings. but moving and rotating with sticks causes an really annoying doubling of everything on the scene. it looks like everything has a trails while camera moves. and it is totally fine when you just move your head. any solution for this?

Hi, I only have a google cardboard like holder for my android phone so last week i was trying to make a vr game for cardboard in unity. I haven't managed to get anything to build and run, i believe they stopped supporting cardboard alltogether. Do you know if there is a trick to making it work? Or is there another SDK that also works for cardboard? I planned to make something where you can plug in earphones and use the volume up, volume down and play/pause buttons on it to move, and interact. I also wanted to make it so you can move diagonally instead if you hold your head sideways. You might just get reasonable movement that way.

Great video. Got a question: When I try to build, it gives a warning that it will only allow me to build the project on Android platform (to build directly on the quest 2) if I change the color space to gamma. Is there a fix for this? If I try to change to gama, it says that some assets are not supported by gamma color space. I'd imagine youre supposed to build with linear Color space

I copied the scene elements to another scene. I do four teleports, but on the fifth and subsequent teleports the target doesn't appear and I can't teleport. Any ideas whats wrong? Ok, looking at it more it might be the ray not detecting its end point? At some point it doesn't let me select inside my room, but I can select outside, then vice versa...

One thing that meta's interaction SDK has that I want to try and pull out and reuse is their CanvasMesh and Curved UI systems, which render UI so high resolution compared to standard Unity UI components... Hopefully I can get it to play nice with XRI Toolkit or Hurricane.

The Gizmos(Audio and Text icon) are Ultra large, making the project unusable. If i switch off the Gizmos, i can't work on the assets. Anyone knows how to make those icons smaller?

If you click the Gizmos dropdown in the Game or Scene view you can see a little slider that says 3D icons. Move it to the left and there you go.
