It’s a sweet groovebox if you like trackers, the only thing missing would of been a internal battery. Polyend stated there’s a new firmware update to the Tracker and Play coming soon.

Oooh, I'm excited to see what they bring to the table next!

Now we know what that is! I pre-ordered the mini, can't wait for it to arrive. Going back to my roots ^^. Thanks for sharing all your knowledge. Your content is a great source of inspiration for many people.

I came into the OP-z late in the game and immediately wish I had picked up the tracker now that I have discovered Polyend... especially with the MINI coming out in small batches as this month...

Have you used the M8? I went with it over the Tracker and curious what your reasoning was? I have a love hate relationship with the Play, but wonder if I’d love it more in combo with the Tracker. I do love the M8 though!! It’s second to Deluge for me.
@jjurksztowicz Жыл бұрын
Having owned both, the pe tracker is good, but the m8 is sublime perfection. M8 + deluge is about everything I need in my studio.

mine too! though Elektron Digitakt rocks as well (especially after they've added Song Mode), but i miss there the easiness of sample chopping, that's on PT

I discovered the jog wheel adjusts all the selected values in a track. This means you dont have to rerun the fill to adjust say volume to taste. Once youve run your random fill say, you can roll the jog wheel and all the selected values will increase or decrease from their fill value.

polyend is amazing, but what about M8? it looks more capable, internal engines, battery and pocket-size

This is super sick. Trackers went from “some Matrix shiz” to actually understandable and similar to the DAW grid.

How do the synths and effects compare to the MPC one?
@FreeBeat Жыл бұрын
This really isn't that kind of machine. For instance, there are no synths in the Tracker. It's all sample based. The effects are basically just reverb and delay, with a whole lot of other options for effecting individual steps :)

Totally not a Groovebox for Live Acts. Only to do just Single Songs. You cannot chance Projects while playing. This limits you to use one Project for a whole liveset. Which means you have only 48 Instruments for a whole liveset. On the other hand it has 255 Patterns which make absolute no sense with so less Sounds. The only way would be if different Sound Presets (only the parameters) for the 48 Sample Instrument would be saved PER pattern. The other Dealbreaker is that the Send FX Settings (Delay Speed, Hall Size etc) are always the same per Project. Using Patterns as different Song ideas is not Possible this way. I will never understand this Limitation, because this needs nearly no Memory to store a bunch of Setting Bytes per Pattern. Very Anoying. I can use it only as additional Instrument in my live Setup and using 4 or 5 Sounds per Live Track (and always stuck with the same FX Settings). The next annoying thing is that in Pattern Mode you can only change Pattern in Sync with Patterlength with the arrow keys. Using Pads need to be timed on Point because it's change eminently. Very Anoying. Changing Patterns with Pads in sync of 1 to 8 bars should be the standard behaviour (as all DAWs or Grooveboxes do). Also that the Pattern Change Key must be hold and is not Toggle able is BS. In I live Situation you need your hands for more then one Gear to change Patterns. I understand limitations about used samples or similar. But this Box is only good if you want to make ONE Song where you can Play Around. Then Stop and load the next Project. Useless for whole livesets
@FreeBeat Жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your opinions! I agree that it's definitely not for most live sets haha. An absolutely incredible compositional groovebox though!
