@ariMuayad

@@akhilmachaan5010, Of course, you can. A college degree is getting less and less relevant nowadays. Just get yourself familiar with it by practicing on a real system and real scenarios, like setup a server with different users and trying to do as much tinkering as possible, in about two to three months you can start looking for jobs.

notes to self: - UEFI replaces the older BIOS - GRUB is how the computer transitions from bios to the actual OS - when you upgrade a system, the old kernel is kept as backup and you can restore it if things go wrong - the Linux kernel is very efficient because it is modular

Duração do martírio de Maria. 1.

@TranscendentPhoenix
@TranscendentPhoenix 3 жыл бұрын
@@disrael2101 Well I just did and my comment apparently got deleted so I won't do it again. But basically it boils down to the fact that you're still managing Linux servers. You just don't have to deal with the added overhead and complexity of hardware management, (physical) network management, and having your own data center. What's funny is that the least useful part of the course in the "cloud" respect is the first half-hour (or whatever it is) w.r.t. booting and the kernel, contrary to what the guy's comment said. I'd still recommend you go through that though. Maybe you need to build a custom kernel at some point, in which case it's good to learn about initramfs, kernel mods etc (I didn't watch this in depth, just skimmed -- idk exactly what he goes over point-by-point). Also it's just interesting stuff and generally helpful background.
