Illegal screens are commonplace in the NBA. If you're gonna call it, do it on the first possession in the first quarter. That way, the players know it for the rest of the game. You cannot start calling them in crunch time. Two vital possessions for the Lakers went down the drain. Nonetheless, the Lakers should have been better earlier to secure the W, and not let it be a matter of 2-3 possessions at the end. Good teams do not leave it up to the refs.

Looking at the numbers, there are some troubling matters for the Lakers. How can a team shoot the same FG%from the floor overall as the opponent, 10% better from three, outscore the opposing team 23 to 11 at the charity stripe and still lose? The answer is defense, or lack thereof. Rockets killed the Lakers on the boards, Adams had 7 offensive rebounds in 17 minutes compared to the Lakers team's 10 for the whole team the whole game. I think the Lakers need a center that can box out and eat some glass...Davis cannot be a tough, banging, rim protecting center on defense, and a lose, relaxed and mobile scoring first option at the same time. That's asking too much from one player. I think the +/- stat is difficult to analyze. How can Shake Milton play 5 minutes, and get a game low -16? What happened? Did he play a five minute stretch when the Rockers made a run? Finally, and as per usual, when the Lakers bench is destroyed by the opposing teams' benches, they struggle mightily. Rockets bench 29 to Lakers bench 16.

These highlights don't tell the story. AD was complete dogsht the first half. Passive, turnovers, no D or offensive rebounds. Dude looked sad.
