This is awesome! Thank-you for doing this. We live on the Weeki Wachee River & teach Paddleboard Lessons & Tours off our dock. We take people out to Hospital Hole all the time. So very cool to see someone dive it!

+Jerome Napp that's awesome! Feel free to use any of our videos to promote your business. If you could credit is and direct people to this channel that would be awesome too! We have several other Weeki Wachee videos on the channel. Also we would be happy to shoot and edit something for you if you'd like :)

lived up US 19 in the Heather for a couple years. The hole was my fav place to hang and free dive on those hot FL. days.

Awesome video. Spent many days there and a little farther at the jumping tree. Love that area for river rafting.

Yeah it is a super cool and unique spot. It is also a great place to see Manatees in the cold months.

Still the best vid on Hospital Hole. I might be able to get some clear shots in the winter

Finally went to Hospital Hole today, but it was totally browned out. Couldn't dive. Bummer.

+Greg Hammack aww man that's lame. I guess the flooding from Hermine is still affecting the river. Many times, if you dive down like 10 feet it clears up as you pass through the thermocline. Last time I was there it was brown at the surface and clear in the hole.

@@curtiswhitwam1 Yep, it got clear a little way down when I dived with my sister.

I was there today for the first time. Probably 15ft of viz. When I was there I didn't even know what hospital hole was until after I got home and researched it. I dove down about 20 feet and didn't see bottom and was like WTF is this. Loved paddling the river though
@curtiswhitwam15 жыл бұрын
Yeah it’s pretty spooky down there but that’s one reason I like it!

Our business is SUP Weeki. Our brother-in-law, Wes Lapp, is a free diver and he has fun when he comes to visit diving Hospital Hole.

Nice! Added this spring to my list. Since The Map is currently unavailable, can you comment on how to access this?
@curtiswhitwam18 жыл бұрын
+Greg Hammack yeah it's easy. It's about 1/4 mile upstream of Rogers Park on the right side of the river (if headed upstream).

Awesome! Found it.

Looks nothing like that anymore unfortunately. Water is murky and limited vise. Dove it at 70’ July 4th 2019 and had 1 foot visibility
@funkiestoyster5 жыл бұрын
yes it does look just like that still. sorry you had a bad day there.
@karenmcgrew63834 жыл бұрын
Please research this before diving it! You need to dive only in drought conditions, because people have died in the caves due to water flow from the spring after rains.

my phone fell out of my kayak in the fist small hole you went through lol

Oof that sucks. It’s like 150 feet deep there too. Sorry to hear that.
