My shitty little animation on what a Vs. vessel fight might look like
I know its bad but its just meant to really be just a "proof on concept"

Some added context! I posted on reedit that I believe that the "freedom motif" is secretly going to be the Kris's theme since it seems that Deltarune is really a game about freedom and whether or not your choices matter. and all the secret bosses want sort of freedom in some way like Kris! so I think a "final fight or a fight with the vessel would use some very big epic remix of the freedom motif (that's the reason why I used the freedom motif from that song)

I dont want them to fight i believe the player should get back their vessel and let Kris have their freedom. Kris may try to attack us out of spite but we'll refuse to fight back and show them we never meant to control their body in the first place

Yeah thanks really like the song! also I forgot the content here. Absolutely banging portrayal of Kris's internal struggles. I'd be shocked if Toby didn't include the FREEDOM motif in the final battle. It's perfect here. Theorycrafting: 1) W. D. Gaster attempts to not only get out of the Barrier but surpass the limitations of the worlds by accumulating Darkness via the CORE. He absorbs a human SOUL, gets affected by the Darkness, and transforms into the horrible beast of Waterfall legend. He goes mad. Eventually, the Darkness concentrates into a black hole and the Beast falls in and is shattered across time and space. Ironically, Gaster may have been trying to break the Barrier, but he's the reason why monsters got trapped Underground in the first place. 2) Chara is a Player SOUL captured by W. D. Gaster who is able to observe experiments. One day, they decide to hitch a ride with you and influence events in an attempt to change fate and finally be free. They pay a heavy price for meddling. Their SOUL gets contained and used as a DETERMINATION source and power generator in the True Lab. 3) The Player either gets absorbed by W. D. Gaster or used as a basis for the Angel. They must fight in the Darkness, and perhaps the calls of their friends allow them to persevere ("Don't forget...I'm with you in the dark"). They will make a choice in those dire circumstances, perhaps to resist W. D. Gaster or use the last of their power to ensure their friends' safety. Whether they become part of the Beast or Angel, *they are unable to return home*. Things are permanently changed. "You Can Always Come Home" will be subverted. 4) Kris attempts to resist a NO MERCY Player or Chara's influence. Perhaps Kris will become the Angel. After the Player's RED SOUL is taken, and the final fight over, Kris is finally free. They seal the monsters Underground per the UT intro.
