This speech turned out to be incredibly prophetic. Dr. Carson said, "They (Ancient Rome) destroyed themselves from within. Moral decay. Fiscal irresponsibility. They destroyed themselves." Obama was probably sitting there thinking, "Shit, he's telling everyone our plans! thank you Dr. Carson! I am a white single mother. My son spent 8 years in the Navy. He's gotten his bachelors in science, and is getting a double masters in mathematics and science. My oldest daughter got her bachelors degree on her own. My youngest daughter, dropped out of high school. She went to Job Corp. She got her GED and her diploma and training as as a nurse asst. She went on to get her degree in aesthetics. My children are white. Your message has been moving to me after the election. I didn't hear it before. But my parents were both for you for the next president because of your Christian beliefs. Thank you for not worrying about being PC! We are all capable of overcoming obstacles that are seemingly impossible. Thank you for bringing that into the light. Minorities are not the only ones who have obstacles to overcome. I've learned that my own dream of being a heart surgeon was not for me. I was not meant to be the great one. It was my children who were meant to be great! And they are!

Cheryl Mantsch President Obama is certainly not bored listening to Doctor Carson, he is obviously listening intently and with scrutiny. Much of what Doctor Carson is speaking about is so generalized that his points become convoluted. His arguments against "political correctness" regarding the first amendment are shoddy at best - to think and speak freely is imperative, to think and speak stupidly is not. His arguments for education are simply uninformed, since the 1950's the United States have put a much greater emphasis on the sciences in public schools. Further disproving his suggestions of improving education are his biases against basic scientific principles such as evolution. He has on several occasions argued that there is not substantiating evidence in favor of evolution. Similarly appalling is the fact that he promotes the conjunction of church and state, which completely undermines the cause and reason for this nation. Doctor Carson is a good speaker for laypeople, using anecdotes and humor frequently - much like a lot of preachers at church services - but he is certainly not an intellectual rhetorician.

The majority of this speech was about Dr. Carson and his programs for education..."go read my book" "go to my website and read about it...." i bow to no god everyone's journey to God is different bless you on yours... try to start off by finding evidence in him that is not spiritual but historical and methodical first if you are not spiritual... like the fact that their is no written historical text in existence that is more declared and verified then the new testament. . Jesus Christ and his miracles and actual existence as stated in the Bible has more evidence then any person in history... like ... 300 times more irrefutable proof then ANY historical person.. Start with factual and historical since you are not a spiritual person as of yet.. it will be easier for you to understand in that approach. :-) you can find that easy enough.. find how many written testaments there are the 99 percent accuracy between every one of them and the fact that there were over 500 copies written and found within 50 yrs after death verses historical characters such as Ceasar, Pluto, and anyone else you could name coming only around 200-500 years later and only around 50 or under copies.. its actually a great rabbit hole to go down when you're ready just don't be stubborn and be open to the idea that you are wrong and it's an eye opening journey.. These people were influenced by the deities in other cultures. Look up horus, mithrus, dionysus, all mythical gods with stories exactly like jesus's story. There is no real evidence of jesus's existence, no DNA, artifacts, handwritten documents etc. Second, religion is a poor example of spirituality. ***** I wasn't gonna reply at 1st, Mainly because the people of this day (concerning the bible) are so indoctrined with radical-rebellious teaching from our online forums and lecture halls of college that it is hardly worth trying to explain things anymore. You mentioned slavery Oppo. Slavery in the bible was mentioned under two different monotones (please do your research). To make it simple: there was the *wrong kind of slavery that forced people and there was the indentured *kind that people did for their livelihood (food, shelter..etc). Slavery is not supported in the *wrong kind in the bible. WE ALL have been slaves of some sort. The slavery God is concerned about is *slavery to sin. That's why Jesus died. Only he can cleanse that within us and noone else. Bible = relationship; not book practice alone. IF there are further replies to this, the answers just get simpler. The bible is not hard to figure out; matter of fact - Jesus wants you to get it.

Wow. I'm only 8 minutes in and I am already blown away by this man. I've always known he was smart and respected him.. But I've stopped after every thing he's said to write it down!! I looked up and shared the Proverbs verses he recited. I wrote down the educate a man, liberate a man quote.. Him speaking about his mother gave me thoughts of how poorly I was disciplined.. And the way he says "If you stop accepting excuses they stop giving excuses and start looking for solutions" !!! These are lessons I was never taught but now as a father I try very hard to instill them in my daughter.
