Railfanning Mineola, Long Island 1/30/2015 (Part 1)

This video was shot at several crossings located in Mneloa, Long Island, New York
After filming New Hyde Park, me and Adam and Alex Vasic headed over to Mineloa to catch the evening rush hour.
I gotta say, if you want train action, this is place to be. There are a total of 5 railroad crossings in this area, and two lines, The LIRR main line, and the LIRR Oyster Bay branch. The main line gets more traffic then the Oyster Bay branch, but this is still an awesome place to film trains.
Crossing Info:
Crossing #1 (Pedestrian Crossing)
Signal 1: 2 pairs of WC Hayes Lights, a WC Hayes gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell
Signal #2: 3 pairs of WC Hayes Lights, a WC Hayes gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell

Crossing #2 (Main Street)
Signal # 1: 2 pairs of WC Hayes Lights, a WC Hayes gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell.
Signal # 2: 3 pairs of WC Hayes Lights, a WC Hayes gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell.
Signal #3: 1 MI cantilever with 3 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch fading LED lights
Both pedestrain signals have a WC Hayes gate motor. One has 2 pairs of lights, while the other only has 1 pair of lights.

Crossing #3 (Willis Ave, Oyster Bay Branch):
Signal #1: 2 pairs of WC Hayes Lights, a WC Hayes gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell.
Signal #2: 2 pairs of WC Hayes Lights, a WC Hayes gate motor and a WC Hayes mechanical bell
Both Pedestrian signals have WC Hayes gate motors, but 1 also has a pair of WC Hayes lights

I've never seen such long delays between the gates going down and the train appearing at the crossing! I'm surprised more autos did not try to run around the gates thinking that perhaps the gates were malfunctioning!

These crossings sit right next to the Mineola LIRR station, so most people know that if they're waiting a while, it's because the train is making a stop.

The one setof signals at about 15 min in. The nxt. crossing about 1500 ft. in front..Is that LIRR too or a freight spur?

I honestly don't know, Maybe they stuck a deal with WC Hayes? Maybe WC Hayes is more reliable.

Has anyone out there ever been inside Nassua Tower/ I was there in the mid-1960s and am trying to remember some interior detail for a model i am building. Specifically, does anyone know the location of the interior stairs to the second floor? Which of the two exterior doors opened into the foot of the stairs? Thanks
