When I was first got into metal, I was listening to the classic bands like Metallica, but as a kid coming from enjoying 90s pop, and a love of movie scores by the likes of John Williams, I knew there had to be more. @@Loctorak Myung is one of the greatest bassists ever. Maybe it is because he doesn't have a 'signature sound' that makes him instantly recognisable, perhaps? Like I could tell you if Geddy Lee was playing, or Flea, or Victor Wootten or Les Claypoole, etc. However John is an absolute anchor in a musical whirlwind and a technical beast. To play what he played for three-hour long shows on tours is not even something I want to comprehend. I wouldn't have a right hand left as my tendons would be so sore that I'd want to cut it off.
