I realize that some people don't prefer Thomas' frenetic playing style - but I appreciate it...he seems tight and in the pocket...and I love how he keeps his left hand VERY busy (being left-handed helps)...I've seen drummers who underuse the left hand...and he seems to be enjoying himself...

Guys, the description says : 'Believe it or not, Thomas had never even heard this track before he played to it. This was live, completely on the spot, and he absolutely killed it. This is one of MANY play-alongs we have in our Drumeo members area. This song in particular, Hypnotized, was created to sound similar to System of a Down!' So stop saying it sounds like it, it was meant to sound like it --''
@KOProcks6 жыл бұрын
Even though he stopped playing too soon at the end of the song, he perfectly got back on playing, proficiently kept on soloing, and did the same ending, which was incredible, accurate and awesome. Thomas Pridgen, you're a machine.

Love reading the comment section and seeing it loaded with people who judge Thomas's entire skill set based on this one cover. He's not always about chops. He can groove really damn well. Don't know why when as soon as a drummer wants to play a fast chop they're immediately just "making noise". People need to look past that and stop critiquing Thomas's playing off of this one cover.

If he'd never heard the track before, how did he know the burst-in at 0:11 seconds in the intro, or the very characteristic change at 0:37? To me it is obvious that he was aware of these beforehand. The intro chord by itself isn't even enough to get a grasp of the base tempo and he was obviously in perfect sync without any references.
