Just about every year between 1963 and 1975 were the best years for music, couldn't even pick one they were all so great...Sorry, but just a fact! 😎

For those wondering, Freedy is still living in Hoboken and playing in smaller venues throughout the city. I was lucky enough to see him in an extremely intimate venue (Guitar Bar Jr.) last fall and he was awesome. It was a great set and his banter was interesting and fun. Of course he ended with Bad Reputation. Awesome night all around.

I felt much the same way. Recently though, there are a lot of great bands picking up the torch of what was great about that era of left-of-center rock. Check out bands like: Pity Sex: (Songs: Keep, Burden You), Moaning (Songs: Tired, Artificial, Misheard) , Alvvays (Songs: Adult Diversion, Party Police, Dreams Tonight), Mitski (Songs: Francis Forever, Your Best American Girl, I Bet on Losing Dogs), Beach House (Songs: Myth, Lazuli, Beyond Love, Days of Candy, Lemon Glow, Girl of the Year), Our Girl (Songs: Our Girl, It's No Big Deal, Sleeper, Level). Preoccupations (Songs: Disarray, Espionage). There is always new good music if you keep listening, these are all new current bands that would have been comfortable in the company of the 90s greats.

This song is simple, yet that's what makes it so full...a few harmonic notes capping off the lines in the chorus...I know everybody has a story, but I heard this sitting upstairs at a McDonald's facing Macy's NYC @ Christmas time, (that's Herald Square)...just me, coupla cheeseburgers, coke, fries...the usual few fellow humans in their own world, too...hey, I was born in 1958; I've got a million stories like this, yeah?...anyway, this song will never quit...and the video is most excellent too! Thanks, Freedy, for making them both!

I forgot how much I love this song. A jangly folky gem. A snapshotpostcard from the Aaa late early mid 90s... Love the black and white Fellini esque NYC imagery complete cast of characters. Part of the joy of it for me is the song feels like its always been there... Freedy just plucked it out of the seraphimic air fully formed for us to enjoy. And the vocals are so easy, he never has to sell it. Thank you sir for doing so, because it somehow makes me happy.peace.
