Testing out a microphone in freefall for more in air briefing, not only on the student but what my processes and thoughts are during the jump and why I do things I do. This is the first of many to come, really enjoyed this process and looking forward to seeing where it goes.

Just trying this the last couple of trips out. I'm so hooked. I need a couple more jumps to get in a camp.

Are you guys using bluetooth to communicate? I always wondered why they didn't implement bluetooth from AFF instructor to student. Seems instead of hand singles, it may be a bit better.

Nope, these are hand signals, its just me commentating my thoughts so you can understand my personal intention and see if it matches up with the jump itself. hand signals work great as you can see, only if you give your intentions through them clearly and slowly. have to slow the mind down.

@@downunderdynamics I gotcha brother. I haven't jumped in over a year. Had to move away from my home DZ and had to get settled into a new place. I'm dyin over here! Time to go get current soon though. I was just starting to learn to track and angle when I had to leave :(

You don’t release your brakes before you do your chest strap?

What would the advantage be? Now you're brakes are in your hands and you're messing with your chest strap in half breaks again.

So you can do a control check and make sure your canopy is good. If you had to chop it with your chest strap loosened that would not be fun.

Nope, I do my chest strap first then pop my breaks. there are pro's and cons to each side. On the canopy I am on (leia 74) I drop out of the sky pretty quick after I pop my breaks. to do the chest strap safely I have to resow my breaks, otherwise if I dont there is a chance ( it has happened) where my breaks now spin up and lock off, giving me a shit situation. My fix for this is as I say in the vid to clearly look at the breaks making sure they are routed properly before popping them. being still set in breaks this gives me more time to glide and get back to the Dz easier for a long spot, or prepare me for traffic. If I need to chop and the chest strap is undone I don't go for my handles. I go for my hip rings then follow the harness up to the handles. Make sure you talk to many others and find out the best process for you personally as this is a "How long is a piece of string situation"

Nope it wouldn't be fun. But if you are on the way back to the dz and you get in a wrap with your chest strap undone that wouldn't be fun either. The best option to do if you have a chop with an undone chest trap is to go for your harness buckles on your legstraps, then run your hands along the webbing up to your handles. then chop. going straight for your handles can cause you to miss them or stuff around for a while trying to get a good grip. Calming the mind first in these situations I find is the most important before doing anything. panicking and grabbing just makes shit worse. @@Rippers-TV

@@BurninatorTheTrogdor there have been incidents where the brakes have been misrouted causing spinning malfunctions! finding the handles is one of the problems when the chest strap is loosened but also having the potential of the harness been off the shoulders on reserve deployment especially if you have a skyhook and are head low with a hard opening on the reserve is another factor to consider.
