An incredibly comprehensive video. I will enjoy the time that companies like Olight start listening to the people in the field, doing the job, that are providing insight, real-world experience and "what should be dones" to increase sales for them. Some of the decision making processes (METALLIC camouflage? Night-glow ring on the end of ANY weapon light? Mindbloggling). Thanks for your work and efforts! Always appreciated!

I carry the Warrior X3 on my future belt, good for vehicle stops where I was to see into a vehicle from distance. Good for open area searches and better than the vehicle mounted spots for drive bys. Nicely balanced for carrying with Taser in hand too.

I like the half press at full and full press on strobe for the tail switch (takes about 3 seconds to change it from default). I've carried all the streamlights and surefire lights on patrol in Atlanta, I was given free ones from sales reps many times. I've also carried Olight stuff. I'll admit to buyng some Nebo lights as well- which I still maintain are great camping lights. Over the years, Olight has felt better and better. And what's weird is they innovate. The streamlight stuff is the same as it was when I first started policing in '06. I became an actual olight fan when they introduced the magnetic charging. My one complaint with all others has consistently been the stupid dust cover, or disassemble to charge. Blood, shit, mud, rain, ketchup, coffee, all gets caught in the dust cover and jammed into the recharging port, that's literally trash. The fully waterproof induction charging (or whatever it's called) it a game changer! Just scrub the crazy lady's who-flung-poo off your light and you'll never catch a glimpse of remaining crusties as you go to charge it next time :)

IQ have Warrior X pro as a duty light and I like it . It's rated at 2250 lumens on turbo. My holder is made of kydex from Cobra Kydex. The holder is OK after I had to work on it. However they were the only company that made a kydex holder for at that time. 😉

The ring is 'inspired' by the Thyrm Switchback. The Switchback allows you to operate the light with your knuckle, and it works very well with regular tailcaps that have a rubber / silicone button, but using a (modified) Switchback on this kind of Olight doesn't work very well. Try an Elzetta or Surfire equipped with a Thyrm Switchback, and you will begin to really hate the ring that they put on the Warrior X3. I still like the "Warrior" and it competes with my Acebeam models L16, L17, E10.

So I have two of these lights, the newest one and the previous version. I ran the last one primarily on traffic stops when I worked nights. The lights are insanely powerful for handheld lights and worked amazingly well for keeping the occupants of the stopped vehicle seeing spots for a couple of minutes. That being said, even though the light is much smaller than an old school stinger and other lights, it’s still too big for me to want to carry on a duty belt or in a pocket so I keep it strapped to my seat organizer and just pull it out as needed and temporarily put it in my back pocket when not needed on a stop. The turbo mode is pretty much like having your spotlight in your hand and makes a great transition light on approach to use to shine in mirrors to keep subjects from seeing you. Other than that… there is no way I’d run an olight as a WML due to their weapon lights having way too many issues and failures. For that I run Streamlight and Surefire. I do carry a warrior pro mini 2 as a pocket light because it’s 1600 lumens, fits in my cargo pocket, and means one less item on my duty belt. Of course once again, I rarely need the light to stay on turbo for more than a minute or two so the light throttling down is not an issue. If I need other lights I keep 3-4 other flashlights in my cruiser at all times and a light on my duty weapon as well so running out of lights or power isn’t an issue.

My surefire breaks about twice a year. Don't get me wrong, I replace the back door as needed or but a new when when it just inexplicably fails... But it's far from flawless. My baldr is just the range toy on the glock18. Hasn't failed me yet ironically.

Dan Dildarious I use the single pistol taco with the Velcro belt mount. Works fantastically for me with any straight sided light like the Olight M2R Pro I have. I’ve used it just as well with similar lights before. You would need to turn the light head up like Tommy does if it has a larger lens/bezel than the body though. What kind of trouble did you find with the taco when you used it?
@dandildarious48493 жыл бұрын
@@Firsir I actually forgot about bezel down carry! I like to carry a dedicated thower like the Acebeam L16, or 17... I made a custom kydex holster for those lights that runs on a bladetech tek lok, and it was WELL worth the trouble. In comparison, I just found the taco (and 5.11 mag pouch) to be very snaggy when I tried it with a smaller light . The Acebeam lights are 40mm... I wanted to switch to the 2 gen Olight Warrior X Pro, but Olight made the light 39mm, so now I have to make a new holster.

Dan Dildarious maybe it’s the width of the light that caused issues. I reckon with a light about an inch or so wide it is a lot less likely to get caught up.

I might be a bit behind the times on this one but when I was younger we always went for the side or mainly the rear window of the car as the front window are usually laminated. But if you’re just trying too cause the occupants of the car distress or hindrance the fact that you don’t totally smash the glass and just shatter it is a much more effective way of hindering the driver. Depending on the situation of course.

That isn't a standard 21700, it is Olight's "customized" 21700. That is a fancy way of saying proprietary. Standard 21700 cells have two terminals instead of three and don't have that silly raised ring on the end either which makes it incompatible with external chargers. Needless to say, it isn't the only problem with this light.

In other channel two cops are discussing police academy, the young guy promotes playing video games on his channel. Dr. Joe Dispenza says playing videogames may lead to another chemical like marihuana, because during playing there is so much of dopamine in brain that the receptors of brain shut down, then the teenagers don´t feel pleasure from anything else, like walking a dog, cooking, visiting grandmother. and then they start to use marihuana, to get the level of dopamine and to get rid of negative thoughts.... so only way to get as much dopamine in brain as from video games, is to get in trouble or to take drugs. Dr. Joe Dispenza says studying creates healthy amount of dopamine. But of course the young cop student can not know it, because he has other hobbies, even though he has police officers in family.

A good tactical light has to be able to be deployed fast faster than a gun pull and this set up just don’t work .
