I'm lightskin and my hair was long curls, but I stopped brushing it out and showered everyday and with a little bit of manipulation I got semi free form dreads in about two months. I know that when you freeform or semi free form you aren't supposed to shower like how you normally would, but I did anyways and my dreads turned out pretty perfect. They were all different sizes, but all generally the same and I got a lot of compliments on it and it's uniqueness. My brother did semi free form as well, and I believe that it gives your hair style and makes it one of a kind, so semi free form is a great way to go.

U want freeform? Just cut your hair to 1-2 inches then get in the shower do the towel rub method everyday for about a week or 2 your hair will be nappy don't touch it or put anything on it (btw use regular shampoo no conditioner) after just section your hair and crochet hook your dreads (u can do rip & twist also) after that just interlock your finished dreads and thats it..

Okay so to be clear, the screenshots that were sent to you from a youtube video, the kid with dreads actually had artificial dreads tied into his. They were single ended dreads tied onto his roots. Anyways since i brought that up, my hair is around 4 inches long and it is straightened currently i get chemical treatments to keep my hair straight but i would love dreads. Should i let my hair grow out more and get dreads or get artificial dreads for now and then real ones later on? I just want to know our opinion on fake dreads.
