I see your point. With Jason it wasn't like he was being raised in a hospital or getting lost in the system. I think it's implied that with Veronica being a lawyer she may have seen some similar cases of kids getting lost in the system, maybe not firsthand but from afar. And if I remember correctly, Veronica didn't even know that Jason was Peter Hastings child until he was close to adulthood (probably when he was 16 or 17). Although this scene makes it confusing. The timeline is a little complicated because it sounds like she's saying that she knew about Jason's real father and when she was explaining about Mary being pregnant, she had the gut feeling that her husband had cheated. So maybe she knew about Mary and Spencer long before Jason's biological father.

I think it was a glitch in memory. Because Veronica implies that she knew about Jason from Day 1. Peter said Jason was 5 when he met him. Veronica did not find out about Jason until in her words Jason was nearly an adult. I don't think Veronica figured out about Jason until season 2. Some time between 12 and 19. Because Peter said in episode 12 that she did not know. I think that it was planned for Spencer to have a twin from day 1 because there were subtle hints throughout the season.

I want to clear something up and it's something I reasearched. Jason and Spencer are genetically not half siblings and cousins. Genetically they are full siblings. Mary Drake and Jessica are identical twins, meaning they have the same DNA. On a DNA test children of identical twins would be labeled as half siblings. Because typically they do not have the same father. However, this case is unique because Jason and Spencer do have the same Dad. Therefore, genetically Jason and Spencer are full siblings. Alison and Spencer are genetically half siblings. It makes sense why Jason and Spencer in reality they seem much closer and seem to get each other but also butt heads way more then they do with Melissa or Allison.

Also, if being emotionally unstable is something that runs through the Jessica’s side of the family….the would explain why Alison and Jason were so, off putting….the only one in that family who seemed even the least bit normal was their father. Also…..Veronica wasn’t the best mother for Spencer. Wouah it's a real fucked up story this 7th season Honestly we all were excepted a twin story to come out but not from the Mother Dilaurentis. Jessica and Mary Drake reminds me of that story Hannah was telling on one halloween episode early on the series about weird diabolic twins. Mary having revenge on Jessica for destroying her life, taking her first son Charles away from her and then she retailed with taking Peter from her. It's so messed up. Frankly I don't know how the writers linked this all up. 1) Jessica and Kenneth having 3 children (Charles, Jason and Alison) to having two (Charles being fake killed so he could become Charlotte/Cece without Kenneth knowing it) then just one (Alison being hit by Cece and buried alive by her mother thinking she dead) to none (we learn that Jason isn't Kenneth really son but Peter's one) 2) Mary and Ted having 1 child (Charles taken away from them and given to Jessica because Mary needs to go to a mental institute again) to Mary having 2 Spencer and Alex (Mary having an affair with Peter by making him believe she is Jessica and she wants to continue despite just having Jason together and her mariage finally being on good terms, guess Peter is really a fool hum) So it goes Mary mother of Charles (being gifted to Jessica, he whole life he though she was his real mother) Mary mother of Spencer and Alex, the new surprising pair of twins (Spencer being rise by Peter since Jessica already took him Jason, he was not about to loose her another child) Jessica mother of Alison (Kenneth only real child) and Jason (Peter's son) Jessica & Kenneth playing parents to Charles until he expresses his desire to become Charlotte/Cece and Kennet was to having it, so Jessica fake his death and send him to Radley so he could transform. She always visited him but never once told the truth to anyone. Cece came in Rosewood and played the game her mother told her to. That's why when Ali was hit Jessica didn't reported it and buried alive, she was indeed protecting one of her child just not a biological one. Basically we get from Ali's position Spencer, Alex and Charlotte/Cece as her cousins Jason her half-siblings From Spencer's position Alex real twin Charlotte/Cece half-sister from mom's side Jason half-brother from dad's side What a great start to a mystery teen show, am I right ?
