Dubai is my go-to map, mainly because if you climb into the security room near the penthouse reception. There is a free silenced smg and a disguise that gets you everywhere.

If you take a sniper(or 2 big guns) you will almost always spawn on the catwalk which gets you a free penthouse guard disguise in 10 seconds.

Just played a freelancer mission on dubai the other day, easily my best run yet. I complete all my objectives, had great target placement and probably could have gotten silent assassin if one of my objectives hadn’t been to get a collateral explosive kill.

If you get Colorado as a mission in Freelancer, it can be pretty easily cheesed with a silenced sniper rifle once you reach the water tower. The point man disguise you get from the injured soldier in the building is also unique in that it's the only disguise that can freely carry sniper rifles without being suspicious.

​​​@@psychotropnilachtan8869 You have to go down the ladder and hide in the crate immediately after taking out a target *before* any guards that noticed the body reach the building below the water tower. Hide until they stop searching, then rinse and repeat. Preferably, wait until your target is a good distance away from the tower before taking the shot. This will lengthen the amount of time it takes for guards to run all the way to the building, giving you more breathing room.

@@TheRagnus Yea that might work but the targets are often pretty close. I thought i could wait it out on top but apparently they can see you there so they never leave combat. Cant shoot you but can see you, breaking rules of Hitman ^^

The thing about Chongqing for me is that in showdowns it feels like 80% of the targets spawn in the facility close to the server. At some point it just becomes boring going in there and hacking all the doors and windows. For normal missions it is awesome

You can enter the consulate easily from the front side, on the left side of the building there's a wall you can jump over and subdue the single guard there.

I think he was talking about suit only being borderline impossible without the keycard jammer on Master. The garage door requires a lockpick or keycard hacker tool iirc, at least you can lockpick it though. For me the consulate is never fun because even with the right guard disguise there are unavoidable enforcers at literally all 3 entrances to the second floor where there’s almost always a target for me. I don’t mind killing guards and just moving on in Freelancer but it’s still one of the only maps where this nonsense exists.

Also you can just not have a disguise at all, and walk past all the gaurds in the back and then just sneak up the stairs and avoid them entirely without ever being seen...?

me too. Haven Island has everything you need. It is pretty flat, has a nice Sniper tower, you can walk the most of the isle without trespassing and if you get your hands on the red shirt you basicly have access to the whole map.

Yeah but what makes it a horrible map is the vast amount of glitches in it and how much of a pain in the ass it is to kill the three base targets. I once had a guy spot me all the way from the island where Bradley takes a hike to the sniper tower, and idk how.

Haven was always a decent map to me but HOLY SHIT THE NPC VIEWCONES ARE ABSURDLY BIG, In my 30~ hours on haven island I have constantly had to deal with bullshit sightlines across half the map ruining my run which has left a bad taste in mt mouth

On Hokkaido, you can go to the basement (very easy to do even with suit only) and do the Agent Smith easter egg with a scrambler you bring / the one in the security office on the ground floor. You get the ultimate keycard that works anywhere, no need for scramblers. =]

Just get a Yakuza disguise and you also get through 95% of the map's doors, and pretty much anywhere relevant. I don't know why people act like it's impossible to navigate Hokkaido.

Mumbai for me always felt like a beautiful, well designed map that is also a pain in the ass to use. The streets feel vibrant and alive, it's probably the most convincingly 'real' locations in the game, and I don't think there's anything objectively wrong with the map. But the crowds are extremely difficult to work with and with the randomized way Freelancer works it can give you some near impossible scenarios. Despite being one of my favorite maps it's probably the 3rd biggest map I try to avoid (Right after Colorado because obviously, and Ambrose Island because I haven't spent that much time getting familiar with the map so I know very little about it).

If you're at the interior spawns you can just bait call doctors at the hotel room next to yours (the one you can climb into). Had the Ninja spawn once, but if you have a silenced pistol you can easily rid of all guards there.

Mendoza is hands down the best for showdown missions. All you have to do is bring a sniper, head to the viewpoint and then just panic each suspect untill you find the leader. Easy

I usually do the same, but I dont panic, but I enter the party normally and check every suspect out until I found the right one. Then I go back to my sniping spot and wait for the perfect shot. Just feels more immersive

I agree, the cameras in Dartmoor were an uneeded addition. I had my worst freelancer nightmare on that map, last showdown of the campaign and I derped the mission before so it was alerted. Good God they had three lookouts on the 2nd floor all criss crossing each other, plus cameras. I still feel like I got very lucky on target location with that (target was on the first floor) because that 2nd flood was almost 100% inaccessible

I recently played Hitman 3 for the first time… this game is amazing so far. I definitely want to try all maps but so far my favorite map is Chongqing. Bangkok has to be the worst of the worst for me. The new exit is fantastic and the targets seem to go to 47’s room when poisoned on that half of the map which beats the myriad of trash cans from before, but the amount of times the targets have been roaming in crowds in the front area Ken Morgan normally is or near the outside bar is so consistent for me. I can’t stand it, these kills become impossible without the Sieker or other emetic crutches.

Can't stand that map, also the vendor spawn near Cross' studio isn't really worth the hassle if you don't have objectives there anyway. Explosive ducks help but they're broken AF in Freelancer so I use them as a "fuck it" strategy due to that trivializing factor.

The best thing about New York is if you go through the nervous applicant story mission, you get a dsiguise that allows access to 80% of the map with no enforcers (Still have to pass frisky, but they can be sidestepped easily)

I don't get the hate for Haven island nor do I get the love for Chonquing, I'd swap places with those in the list. Haven Island has those shallow water sections that makes it very easy to get onto the two guarded islands, and is otherwise pretty flat. I think both the lab and the experiment building in Chonquin are just annoying to get around though, I especially HATE the number combination locks and the camera locks when that would have been a PERFECT place to put keycards since the keycard hacker items are so incredibly underutilized in the game. Also personally I think Sgail is pretty easy if you just sneak up to the tower and get the elite guard disguise that gives you free roam literally everywhere, though I could imagine it being horrible to suit only if you get a target in the highest building. Oh and Bangkok is an incredibly shitty map, but there is a master keycard in the cellar laundry room that makes it much easier to get around. With that said I did enjoy the video, especially the stripper joke lel.

Colorado is not "Unredeemably Bad" in Freelancer, even in the base game. Yes, getting into separate parts of the compound requires different disguises.....that's the point of *disguises.* That's not any different to any other map; the game is designed around this. And all the targets i've had so far have NOT been in anywhere but the general areas and the house. The regular militia soldier disguise is readily available, especially since there's no punishment for killing guards here. And the house is fine? Navigation is not hard in the slightest, and there's a shed at the end of the grounds that lets you lure people in to get a militia disguise. Seriously, stop exaggerating the issues with this map. If you were talking about showdowns specifically, then i'd agree with this more (lots of things to keep an eye on in such a small place), but you're not. This is a such a bad take, to the point that Sgail is harder, as that has way too many enforcers regardless of disguise, something Colorado doesn't have in the same way.

The biggest problem with Colorado is that every guard can have line of sight at almost every area. If you are caught doing an illiegal action you are done because there is no way to contain the situation if you’re in the field. Even in Isle of Sgail and Mumbai you can avoid this because of the former’s vertical structure and Mumbai’s various shortcuts that let you cut line of sight

My favorite maps for showdowns are Sapienza, Whittleton Creek, and Miami. I try to avoid Colorado, Berlin, and Ambrose Island. Berlin is a massive map, and that makes it annoying, and I have not spent enough time playing Ambrose Island. For regular missions, I do not care about the map just as long as it is not Colorado. My trick for Freelancer is to execute anything that can shoot.

I like Sgail purely for the super disguise Elite Guard. As soon as I spawn in I make a bee line for the top of the castle. Lots of grass to stay hidden along the way, and the climb up is pretty unwatched. Mumbai isn’t too bad as long as the targets are in the tower and the train yard. I only got one target in the middle of the map (the laundry) and it was a little tricky but I managed. Also making the train go through the Queen’s court is always satisfying even when the target isn’t there 😂

@@Marto2168 They work like a sniper distraction except that there is no specific place they go to. As long as there arent enforcers and you aint near the alarm it should be fine if no one see's you press it. You can activate it from a distance with a gun shot as well. It's really reliable and it's my escape route + entrance to the consolate SA/SO.

Dartmoor isn't too bad once you get to know the place well.. even with a thousand cameras there's ways around them too. And navigating around the house and gaurds it gets easier once you figure them out. Same with Paris, Colorado. The Japan map is intimidating to me right now.

I am very selective with what maps i play, Im fairly new to the game, if a see Colorado i just dont choose it, or if every option has Colorado i restart the game, nothing will change exept for the map selection, i see people being like “i want to take down big Pharma and the dumper” and just choosing blindly but there is no real difference between the syndicates, but Colorado can ruin a whole campaign and Im just slowly learning the maps. People say “play campaign to learn the maps” and i see why, but playing the same mission over and over just to find out alot of the same things i can find out by watching on twitch or youtube is not for me, just give me a mansion to level up and a gun collection and Im happy tbh, i dont mind failing anyway

Dear WildGold! I agree with your ranking but about Santa Fortuna i give you and all readers a tipp: use rubber duck explosives for that targets you can't dart gun aka SIEKER to isolate! If you don't mind "hide target bodys" it really helps and if no one guard sees immeadiately the victim blown up you even get lucky to get "no combat" - both objectives are by FAR the WORST to get if you want to race through the missions! PS: Sapienza is so lalala i mean when you have a virus doctor in that caves it can take seriously up to 20 min for me to get all objectives done - if i can kill non-targets i tend to clear the cave area top down "dissolving" all guards and even zivilian nps in that precious accid tanks... but it's not hard its just annoying! PPS: I love maps where you can easy hide targets by tossing them off cliffs or into water - so Miami that fish tanks are great to make a safe zone for "Arrange Meetings" if you want to take out guards and make them dissappear and drag bodys up to that garderobe in that kronstad building is time consuming but safes precious 1000s mercs! PPPS: the most guards killed shootouts i had to take where at A.) BANGKOK and B.) Hokkaido if shit hits the fan you can get gunned down easy there - if you can maintain your "silence" in the assassin you are fine but if something gows rong and especially you have "No Witnesses" BOY you see it spread like a VIRUS!!! Hokkaido is then a mass grave i had several shootdowns in that morgue ... omg it can be really bad PPPS: for all you say "key cards" or "hacker devices you need" NO you can always use disguises which open up doors for you in Hokkaido - take the directors disguise and you can even enter the morgue and free Agent Smith or just get him out of that freezer you get the master RFID chip and you are free to go! Bangkok? at least 2 of the master keycards are very easy to get - if you wear a guard disguise that white one! or just distract the npcs around and make a run and grab like you did as a 5 year old in that grocery shop with that old fat woman behind the checkout... lol Take care Fox out

1 thing i think the game should show u on the map is the doors/ladders u can break open and once u do they remain open the next time u get to those maps. U can se every staircase and door from the map except those specific once. Note that i only make the case that they should be shown after u have unlocked them.

A few things I would disagree on, mainly Ambrose island, I think literally think it’s as bad as if not worse than Colorado in terms up of how annoying it is, and honestly if given the choice to play between the two maps for normal syndicate missions, I would take Colorado every time. Ambrose island just has the absolute WORST target selection I have ever seen. It can be nearly impossible to kill targets in ways that is remotely clean or fast and they tend to be in the middle of everything and there are always a thousand guards right around the corner. Berlin suffers from this too, where you can’t even get a clean gunshot off on some targets, never mind anything remotely creative. Mumbai and Santa fortuna I would say are bad, it’s just so much goddamn walking and the targets are always in fortresses that need disguises and dealing with a lot of guards to access. 2/3rds of my experience with mumbai and Santa fortuna is literally just walking to the place I need to go. Paris I would say should be moved a tier up, as it’s like the exact opposite of mumbai in terms of walking. Everything just feels so much closer together and easier with the map experience and simpler map layout. Haven island should be moved up one too IMO, it’s a map you hate at first but then you kind of learn how to deal with its unique issues, and the exits are all so convenient and nearby.

Colorado is not that bad - elite guard or pointman suits are pretty easy to obtain, map is pretty flat and open so sniper rifle on water tower will be your good friend even on showdowns. Marakesh is a bit moe tricky, but still managable after getting elite soldier disguise. Bangkok - managable even with suit only. Maps which really sucks Isle of Sgail (large and very vertical, lots of time required to traverse between targets), Ambrose Island (simply dont like it).

This tier list very much represents "normal" game tier list as well. Basically great maps are great and bad maps are bad. It also shows how bad most of Hitman 2019 maps were in retrospect. Paris and Sapienza were good and great respectively, but the rest were so bad. It's amazing how much Hitman 2 and 3 improved compared.

It's my main showdown map and I get by with explosive ducks (MVP in Freelancer, stupid useful), calling in meetings or sneaky Sieker shits. My default route is getting a high security guard outfit (by hanging over the staircase where the vendor can spawn) by tampering with the switch at IT and then pivoting to the job applicant disguise (which you can do the interview with for access). You only have to bother with lookouts as the job applicant so it's the best disguise before you rob the vault.

@@joshuagericke243 New York is my favorite map because you can get away with a lot underground where the vault is . Open that cabinet on the wall where the guard post is and chloroform the room to knock them all out, also knock out the guards in the money van next to it (where you put the poison in the ventilation) and then you're set, just hide any bodies you need to and then take out one of the suspects and bring the phone downstairs and use it in that area, and wait for the other suspects to arrive. It's very secluded and after taking those guards out I mentioned no one should hear if anything goes south. Also the sleeping guard in the safety deposit box room on that same level has the key you need to exit the level in the money truck, along with robbing the vault for free merces and a legendary concealable shotgun too

@@dr.zoidburger7515 need to keep in mind that some suspects may go to the vault area as part of their route, just as with the one old guy in alerted NY/Master difficulty NY, though they are pretty easy to dispose of.

General tip for target isolation - always bring Emetic dart gun. Poisoned target will move to toilet where you can pick the target easily.

Your start locations are heavily affected by your loadout. I exclusively takes assassination contracts because I'm just insanely good with snipers no matter the game and I almost always spawn in great spots that are either very high and deep inside hostile areas so it's great for "use 1 disguise" missions or it's a place that is easily accessible. Taking 2 big weapons almost always puts me on towers.

For me I always do showdowns at Whittleton, Haven Islands, Mendoza. Second Choice Miami only because it's so big all that running to check out the suspects is painful. Have not completed my first hardcore. I felt like dying when a non related assassin 1 shot me after killing the boss. I never went to Paris for showdowns every since. Though it's an easy map. The devil lives there now.

Pretty accurate tier list. I'd only disagree on Hokkaido & Sgail. As long as you're willing to swap disguises, normal Hokkaido is a breeze. Alerted variant on the other hand, is absolute dumpster fire. In case of Isle of Sgail, it is difficult to traverse, but not nearly as overcrowded as Mumbai. If you know what you're doing, this map is not bad at all.

Sgail gets easy when you start at the top of the tower, at the helipad. The elite guard disguise tends to get the job done for me. The other start at the broken down tower is fine if you're not gunning for SA.

@@randalica92 true, I find broken tower spawn quite annoying 😁 either way, two strongest disguises (red bartender & elite guard) are super easy to obtain, afterwards you get a pass pretty much anywhere. And personally, I just LOVE Sgail aesthetics. The old castle vibes, the way you can navigate via secret passages & facade elements - it simply feels incredible.

@@randalica92 in my opinion, alerted Hokkaido morgue spawn is the worst of them all. You're straight up forced to do nothing for like 2 minutes before there's a short window to stand up, absolutely horrible

@@Leo-ym5xn yeah, morgue is only good if you already have a disguise on hand or have brought a coin. BTW rubber ducks of any kind seem to work exactly like coins, and you can retrieve them like coins (or even yoink them out of their hands)

New York is objectivly the best map for showdowns, its small enough to find all targets, free merces and you dont really need the keycard unlockers if you know how to get in ( basically just jump over the railing on the right). Ive never died on that map simly beacuse theres nobody to die to. Best map for showdown

Colorado is NOT avoid at all cost. There's an obvious infiltration route and once you got your first disguise it's easy as it can be. It's far better than highly secure, highly segregated maps (i.e. multiple high security areas that require multiple disguises) like Columbia and even Bangkok. Haven Island is also easy, get the doctor's cloths and you can access most targets. Berlin is definitely not "great" if you consider its dim and colored lights making hair color recognition difficult. Same issue applies for Ambrose and Sgail. You gotta be kidding for ranking Marrakesh as "avoid at all cost". get to the underground tunnel, kill a soldier and you have access to 80% of the map. If you take the extra mile to the school and get a officer disguise you have 90% access, and most probable targets are either emetic-able or snipe-able. The only problem is the high amount of enforcers in the Consulate but that's hardly an issue unless your target happens to be on the 2nd floor, balcony side, in which case you would probably need to get the massager disguise and perhaps even keep your stuff frisk-able. However, in most such cases you can just snipe. Just remember to bring an AR or a sniper rifle. Did you just ranked Chungqing as "great"? really? "great" usually means it's suitable for showdown, and Chungqing is anything but that. Two high security non-disguise-compatible areas basically deemed it will be at least "bad" or even "avoid at all cost".

Hokkaido has the worst rng possible for freelancer. One spawn puts you in the Morgue, on lower lvls its fine by if you get there on the 4th syndicate in hardcore, there is literally no way to get out without being seen. Whenever you leave the table you will get spotted, if you dont spawn in themorgue its fine tho

I would put Paris as an S Tier but most of his other ones are fairly justified. Sapienza is a fantastic, beautiful map but it’s kind of a pain with the size like Mumbai. Hokkaido is extremely congested for showdowns and targets that roam in the hospital area are infuriating to take out without emetic spam. Colorado is just ridiculous, though. Especially with lookouts, the map can become a 4 minute long firefight because of a simple mistake and as fun as that can be, it gets old.

Sorry mate, I mostly agree on this list but china is absolutly dusguisting, the upper part is easy, but once you have a target sitting in that fckin basement in the lowest stage its getting messed up, its like impossible of getting an good disguise and not beeing seen somewhere down there. Not to forget the exits, if your down there, theres no way getting out if youve been seen. Dartmoor in my opinion is fairly easy because most targets sit/stand next to a window wich makes it fairly easy.
