So in episode 2 it does show the bracket for the tournament. Pyrrha and Penny do fight, but without Emerald to interfere with her semblance, and Pyrrha not having Amber and the Maiden stuff to think about, the fight is assumed to go as normal as it can, with Pyrrha winning. But it is assumed that only Ruby knows that Penny is a robot still like she did in canon before everything went down the drain.

In episode 8, Alyx mentioned in Dr. Oobleck's class that Lewis was her great great great great grandfather, meaning this isn't the same Alyx from volume 9.

Yea I was a bit resistant to Alyx being there... but after thinking about it... not like they have a plethora of other younger characters to choose from without breaking... and I admittedly don't enjoy when OCs are forced into roles (usually cuz it then becomes an OC op centric story)... And it's actually written and acted well so I'll allow it :D

I'm pretty sure the reason characters like Alyx and Oscar are there is because they have changed a lot of the lore post V2. Pretty sure no gods, no maidens, and the Ever After might not even exist at all. Since they made that change, and needed characters, they pulled canon characters like Oscar and Alyx and used them here. Essentially everything more or less up to The Breach is canon to this AU, everything else they absolutely took a lot of creative liberty. Which IMO is a good thing in some respects, we actually get to see Alyx's character more and in the present, and I like pretty much every scene with her She is a snarky little shit.

Things aren't the same in this series because Kaleidoarms confirmed that this series depicts an alternate universe in which many things are different. The whole Maiden/Relic subplot doesn't exist anymore, meaning Cinder's powers are just Semblance and Dust-based, and both Watts and Hazel will be their own individual Villains unconnected to Salem (though there as been no mention so far on if Salem and Tyrian still exist). Adam, while still manipulative, is no longer Blake's ex-boyfriend and just her mentor, and other characters mentioned in the books for from later seasons will be reimagined to fit this new world better.

why you mad Jaune "being "dense", it almost like he never had feelings for Pyrrha , he liked another girl, and only started to care for her... in the very volume she died, leaving him with the guilt of not knowing if she actually loved him or not.
