Wieder mal aufs Video geklickt weil endlich für Unterfangen Zeit und Sommer da ist. Danke recht herzlich für die Auflistung bzw durchgehende Kommentare dazu. Das bringt bestimmt was. Umfangreicher und informativer gehts nicht. Scheißegal wie groß/klein der Kanal im KZbin-Plattform/Algorithmus ist; hoffentlich sehr bald wirds ja zu Ihren Gunsten sprechen/stehen. einfach fabelhaft und richtig lückenfüllend (unter alle Umstände), ein weiteres Mal.

Thank you for all your efforts to make the starting process easier for us ,l wanted to ask if you have a video about your starting point and progress, Also l live in Turkey does that effect the signing process in some or all the websites you have mentioned?

Glad you enjoy the content :) yes my first video on the channel explains my progress and then there are many more on the channel about my beginnings. One of them coming next week :) and no, this profession is location independent, so you can sign up with all of them!

And yet another one! Thank You very much! I have one additional question. How do You search for a sponsor if You already have a book, and an order for translation, but the person who orderd it does not pay for it, instead You have to find sponsor by yourself? This goes especially for translation of an academic book. Did You have experience like that? Thank You!
@Freelanceverse2 жыл бұрын
Glad you enjoy it! Wow that's a specific question. I have no experience with that, no. Can you explain how they would order a book translation and not pay for it? I'm not familiar with this process so I don't understand how this would happen.

@@Freelanceverse It basically goes through acquaintance. It is in the best interest of the author for his book to be translated, I want to translate it as well (since it is my field (archeology and ethnology) and is of high quality for the field). The problem is he just cannot aford the entire translation - it is some 300 + pages book. I have some contacts of Archeology/Ethnology institutions, but I'm not quite sure how to approach them with the question of funding the translation. I do not know wheather I explained it well. I hope I did :) Basically it is like choosing Your own books to translate and then searching for someone in whose interes it is that the translation would be done so that they take funding on them.

Hmm interesting, I would assume that you have to go through the publisher. I can't see what a third party sponsor would gain from paying you for this work. Maybe check out my Specialized episode on Literary translation and reach out to one of the panelists. Maybe they can help you out in this matter.

hi, could you make a video about how much a translator should charge for a translation? I have no idea
@Freelanceverse2 жыл бұрын
Sure, a video on pricing is coming up soon :)

Does anyone know about some agencies or websites specialized in music translation? (theory, music production, Ableton, Logic, synths, manuals of any kind.....) I am about to finish my degree in translation (EN/ES => GER) and I am a passionate musician since I am a child so this would be a great area to provide translations in, but I really don't know where to start? Thank you for this great channel btw.!!! I have learned so much already!

Hopefully someone can help you out in the comments. I personally don't know any such agencies

Maybe try contacting direct clients, like music festivals, orchestras, music schools, etc.?

Hey friend, i've tried out webs u recommend but most of them not available in my language. I translate English to Indonesian n still struggle finding job. Please help
@Freelanceverse2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I can imagine that it's harder to find jobs for smaller languages. But things like Proz and translatorcafe have indonesian jobs on there for sure. I can't help with language specific options unfortunately as I have no idea about the indonesion market. I'd suggest to connect with established indonesian translators on LinkedIn and talk to them directly.
