This was the first version that I heard when it came out (was it REALLY that long ago?) I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics because I thought the music (and vocals) were great. Then, out of curiosity, I listened to the original. WOW, Alanis Morisette puts it in a really different perspective. Perhaps it's because she wrote the song, and put the emotion she wanted into it. I can't decide which is "better", both are excellent (IMO), but in very different ways. Same song. Different planet (The original is a bit too dark for me sometimes). I haven't any kind words for the version by "Lush". It's just lazy Karaoke. At least Freemasons created a whole new sound.

This song resonates in my mind is such a positive way that I find it hard to explain. Baileys voice is so good that it is a travesty that we don't get to hear it more often. She is my favourite female singer of all. There is something beautifully haunting about this whole song and video.
