Given a polygon, solve for x and all of the interior angles using sum of interior angles

👉 Learn how to solve for an unknown variable in the interior angle of a polygon. A polygon is a plane shape bounded by a finite chain of straight lines. The interior angle of a polygon is the angle between two sides of the polygon. The sum of the interior angles of a regular polygon is given by the formula: 180(n - 2) degrees, where n is the number of sides of the polygon.
Given the expressions for the interior angles of a polygon, to find an unknown variable, we equate the sum of the expressions for the angles to the value of 180(n - 2) degrees, where n is the number of sides of the polygon and then solve for the unknown variable.

start with a triangle and work your way up

the number of angles is the same as sides but if you start at a triangle 3 sides minus 2 is 1 times 180. Then a quadrilateral 4 sides minus 2 is 2 times 180 is 360.
