I was stationed at Surf Side in the mid 70's. Before the old Coast Guard Sta burned down. (not my fault) but I don't recognize much about the places in this video. I remember down town being quite busy and many people milling around but it looks dead in your video. Clean but dead. In those days it was all shrimp boats along the banks of the town. I also noticed no shrimp boats but maybe you didn't drive past that area?

I saw some boats, but not that many. Most of the times I see a lot of shrimp boats it's in the Palacious area.

What a bleak, dead looking place! I can never understand these comments on youtube city drive arounds. Freeport looks like a place that a judge would sentence you to go live in. There is literally nothing there but gas stations, run down homes and oil refineries. He didn't show the "beach" at Surfside, and for good reason. It's dirty and not clean at all.
