My mom was so right. One time I was acting all prestige and ting because it was my birthday and she told me it’s just another day you didn’t do anything. 😂. I don’t even celebrate my birthday because now I realize that it’s a vain celebration for doing nothing. Mothers should be given the cake. Not us.

I did stop celebrating birthday including not conveying any message of birthday to family members and friends. Though it should have been easy to stop, the reality says something different. Some family members still want something special on that particular day. Birthday messages from friends are still there in social media. But, this is the challenge. May Allah open our hearts and make it easy to do the correct way. Aamiin.
