FreeScan Combo/QuickSurface Reverse Engineering 3D scanner Review- Making a Custom Engine Cover

Here is my review of the Shining3D FreeScan Combo and its use with QuickSurface. I tried sticking to something similar to my last video with the revopoint mini review. Initially I had recorded myself scanning different objects but without the intent to reverse engineer them.
I decided to change my mind and do something like my last video as I think that truly shows how capable the scanner can be. I will still release the other footage at a later time along with the models I scanned with it so you can see the quality of the scans.
Let me know if there's any interest in showing a quicksurface workflow video with this scan. I can definitely show how I went about to make this part into a step file to bring into fusion360

Interested in the workflow in QuickSurface. I will be receiving the Shining3d Einstar 3D today after finally convincing myself to just do it. I know there's a huge difference between these two scanners both in capability and price but I'm looking for the best way to convert the scanned data into an editable CAD model. I work in IronCAD which is fantastic for engineering but doesn't work well with imported mesh data. I will need to be able to bring in usable data to reverse engineer parts. Since it's just a hobby, the sub $1k scanner will have to do. Anyway, nice video on the process and look forward to seeing more.

Thanks! I also have the einstar and it’s a very capable scanner. I was able to get a lot done with it and it’s the best scanner for that price point. I will definitely show the workflow with quicksurface. There is a lite version which is yearly subscription based that is way cheaper than the pro version. However it does lack features, I’m just not sure what it lacks.

Yes I'm currently working on another video showing how I scanned a side skirt with the freescan combo and used quicksurface to recreate some tabs that will be used on a aftermarket side skirt

FreeScan... price $16,000. I'm sure it's 100% worth it, but I didn't even finish watching the video after visiting the link. I'm just whining because I'm poor.
