@flychomperfly she has explained it, (I am sure she probably feels like 1 million times already) because she is not a rescue. She is not a nonprofit, she is not set up for that and there are already horse rescues that have the space. When she purchases a horse, her plan is to evaluate the horse, work with them, if they are up to snuff, they might get more training by entering their horsemanship program. She developes the horses for a period of approximately 4 years and then she will list them for sale. Shae is also extremely careful when selling these horses that she has purchased, developed and worked with. As she should be. She is also a small barn, she really doesn't have a ton of space to take on that much work. She has a video I think where she answers some questions from people, look through the video list and I am sure you'll find it. She of course can explain her reasoning much better than I can, because it is her reasoning. 😂😂😂

You have so much more love to give. It's just some old man's opinion, yet I think you need much more land, many more horses, assistants and students. You deserve a bigger home for you and Kyle, Koa and Penelope, and a guest house. A bunk house for your hired hands would be good too. It's all based on your love of horses.❤❤🐎🐴🌹

One of the best things about auctions like these is : The FULL SIZE, arena style ring, to actually show what the horse can do, in a relaxed way, while being auctioned. Some of the auctions bring the horse into a tiny, fenced box - basically - maybe 8' X 15' - and the rider is hauling them around, yanking on their mouths, etc., to make them do 'fancy, reining spins' and goodness knows what else, in TOO small of a space - and often the horses look both confused and terrified ! And, I've noticed, most of the riders are wearing spurs, while they do it all......To me ? It's the height of cruelty. I'd 'spin' too, under those conditions ! Nice auction, Shae, with many great looking, well cared for horses - thanks for taking us along, again ! :)

Yep, me three! I want a Friesian stallion and mare, , a Morgan, a percheron, a shire or clydesdale, several Icelandic horse Stallions and several mares so I can breed them, A welsh cob, a polish or Russian Arabian stallion, a Norwegian Fjord horse, a Spanish horse, a Warmblood for dressage, But definitely NO quarter horses! I love that big ring that gives the horses plenty of room to walk around. It gives the buyers a better look at how they move and what they can do. I don’t like the small rings where they take only a few steps then have to turn around again. I love the color of the mare with the foal that they were bouncing basketballs around. I love blue roans as well. About 20 years ago, I inherited a small herd of miniature horses from an elderly aunt, and the stallion was a blue roan paint. Except for his minimal white markings, he looked like a tiny Hancock. He passed away not long ago, and I miss him, he was quite the character, but I thought when she called me so long ago to see if I could take her horses, the Horse Gods were smiling on me, to send me a beautiful tiny blue roan.

This auction was lovely. So many beautiful horses, and they all looked healthy. Shae, I so admire your integrity & self-discipline. It kind of broke my heart when you had to let that seemingly perfect mare go. But those of us who’ve been watching your channel for a while now have seen all the work and care you give to new foals and their mamas-from birth and beyond. I have confidence in you to always make the right decision for the circumstances 💛

Being good stewards and guardians of our animals means knowing what you can and cannot handle at any given time. The fact that you passed on that (beautiful) pregnant mare is exactly what a responsible owner does. You did the kind, responsible and honorable act by passing. I love your channel because of this. Certainly, it was heart breaking 💔 but things come at the right time and this was not the right time. You have a beautiful soul and it shows in your kind and wonderful herd. Continue to do what you do and stick to your ethical, responsible and kind mission. Still sorry you had to pass on the mare. 😘

Shae, with the quality of the horses you saw and showed us. This is an auction that I would suggest attending again. I haven't watched all your videos but for a "small" auction, there were a lot of beautiful, healthy, well trained horses And I agree wholeheartedly, you DON'T need a stallion! When I was raising Connemara ponies, I had the mares and my best friend had the stallion. They were more than 20 minutes apart so I had no stallion issues and she had no mare issues. His crosses with my mares turned out to be wonderful mounts for riders from therapy program to eventing.

I’m 80 yrs old now and live in town and have my cats and dogs but love spending time at these horse auctions. Also even though sometimes I get so excited over a horse and am really disappointed when you don’t purchase it (like I think it is coming to my house or something (n,lol) , I really appreciate that you talk about wise purchasing of animals. Too many animals are purchased without thinking about the care , attention, and money needed to keep the animal the way it needs to be kept.

You are absolutely right about what you can handle; not good timing or space or set up for more foals, pregnant mares, stallions young or old. Other than being able to manage to keep your programs running smoothly and the current herd, as well as providing pasture land. I do hope the land proximal to your property will one day be sold to you and Kyle. So far, your FSE Farm’s Mission and purpose are functioning securely and at almost maximum sustainability. You don’t want to grow too large too fast. You need to not only need to put your wonderful, amazing care, nurturing, love and space for your equine family, Koa, Penelope and Arista happy and healthy , you have to take care of yourself and be mindful of Kyle’s well-being as well. So, I say, follow your current instincts, feelings, knowledge and abilities. So please don’t overload yourself; you are doing so well now. Your trajectory is already going up positively, at enough speed with all that your amazing mind, heart and soul can manage beautifully right now!! Peace, Love and Blessings to you and Kyle and all the Free Spirit Equestrian Family!!! ☮️💟🙏♥️♥️♥️🐴🐎♥️♥️♥️

I don’t think you understand about the land. It’s something we truly have been wanting for awhile.
@maggieekane78456 ай бұрын
@@freespiritequestrian Yes, I realize more now. You recently released a video, taking us on a tour of your pastures with the herd separated into two pastures; you named the big or main pasture attached to the gated large paddock next to the barn, and the smaller pasture the foals were in at first. You gave a very detailed description of the acreage, the kind of demographics of the pastures, paddocks and side paddocks attached to the barn, and your attempt to buy some land, church land that connected to your land, on the other side of a tree line. But the church was not at that time interested in selling or leasing the land. I understand that you and Kyle love your current property and what you can manage in a free, foraging equine herd is at almost maximum capacity now. I recall, sometime ago that you said that your current farm, your mission and your practical capacity and abilities that 10 to 12 horses was what you could manage in that location. That would mean you are close to maximum now, with 11 horses which includes, essentially, 2yearlings. Of course, one hopes that this home and farm can serve you well for quite awhile, at these logistics. I wish you good fortune, well-being, good health, and continued success with what you and Kyle are currently managing and loving right now, 2024. I now know you well enough by your transparency, honesty, sharing of your current businesses of both you and Kyle, that this is your dream home and farm being realized. Because you are a diligent, resourceful, intelligent knowledgeable business person, I know you are not inclined to do anything rash. Whatever your next step in purchasing land, new home or site won’t be without careful consideration of all the pros and cons!! I believe in you and Kyle, wholeheartedly! Thanks for reminding me and others, that more land is still on the back burner, but not forgotten. Always wishing you the best and continued success, Dear Shae!! 👍🥰💗
