after a year of practice and watching youtube videos i still can’t get this right on my nonbreathing side. i either don’t rotate at all and so my hand leads, or when i focus on rotating, i can actually over-rotate and feel like i’m falling over! like i can end up on my back trying to do bow-and-arrow on that side, lol! make it make sense!!!! this video makes it look so easy.

Lol, makes perfect sense to me at least. It's a struggle doing this stroke, I tend to overthink and become clumsy 😅

@@Mita_2023yes, i have to focus on one thing at a time during each practice session or everything falls apart from overthinking.

As soon as I raise my head to breathe I sink down .what to do😮

Try this drill: When you catch the water try to make it straight at back like throwing water or pushing back... As your hans gets straight turn your head side or slightly up and make your straight arm bend for recovery try to see bend elbow... Now it's your time to take precious Oxygen. With hand going into water turn head back into water

The head is late after breath, is it not?

My arm in front aways falls down when in recovery phase with the other arm, just can't keep it straight forward, it starts to fall and I have to start a new stroke. Any suggestions?
@33Jenesis Жыл бұрын
Use paddles to train, they keep your straight arm up a bit longer. Also, you may not rotate enough, not looking down, or raise your head too much. I made all these mistakes before correcting. Now my arm doesn’t drop anymore.

How far back should I push the water? People say all the way back but if I do that my palm starts to point upwards and not so much facing the back of the pool, almost like the old flick water drill which everyone now agrees is wrong. Any suggestions? Thanks

Any conclusions?
@giulianoschillaci7112 Жыл бұрын
@@gustavovergara646 conclusion: push all the way back but bend the arm first! That way the arm will exit first with a high elbow instead of the hand. I know, it's easier said than done but coach is there to help.

@@giulianoschillaci7112 so don’t lock out our arm at the hips, almost locked but not quite so there’s a bend in the elbow and then lift the elbow first with the hand in back of the elbow? Is that correct? Thanks for the reply
