That uppercut was going to KO Izzy. He should thank Marc every day for the rest of his life. Also Alex's power is levels above Gastelum lol, and Gastelum went for a fucking takedown. The situations aren't even close to comparable. There is no chance Izzy survives 3mins vs Alex that badly compromised. Izzy said post fight he was waiting to take Alex down 'again' and beat him up, but Izzy was unable to take Alex down once the whole fight. Izzy reversed a trip of Alex, which isn't a takedown - it's a reversal. Izzy was just going to keep eating damage until he was slept. You were the better fighter overall, the better Dagestani, the better composed .. As a Doctor, I don't think people fully understand the extent of peroneal nerve damage and what it could do to your stance & fighting. You won't be able to lift the foot comfortably (if even lift it at all), toes dragging while walking, weakness in ankle and foot .. and a lot more. I'm not a fighter but damage like that will damage your balance, ability to do foot work, distribution of weight, stance switching and many subtle details that compose the art of striking and even wrestling, he wouldn't be able to take you down if that leg was clear, and you proved to be the better wrestler with a damaged leg (how crazy is that) .. I don't think people understand how well prepared you were, and how many levels you could've taken this to. And watching you on Flagrant made respect you as a person even more that I already do. You WILL come back stronger, and I think you know exactly what to do next time, the championship will return to its rightful owner. All the best Bro. I was hyped to watch this when it came on my feed. I fucking love watching you fight. So technical and timed and managed. It’s so interesting to watch, as much as it is exciting. And when I first seen you break down one of your fights, it was crazy insightful as to what you are thinking. So this one I needed to see. Because in my opinion (and I know nothing btw, but it hurt a little because you are the best of the best in my eyes) you were piecing him up all fight, until the final round, I feel like you were trying to have too much fun. So to hear you admit that in this video, I’ve got mad respect for you now. You have been humble in defeat and have responded perfectly. Have your rest, reset what you need to reset, then come back and retaliate like only you can. Let’s go champ!

wow, lotsa people wanting to see Izzy stay down, drunk on the worst case of tall-poppy syndrome. not surprised, but dang. now, *I’m* way more interested in what could happen with Khamzat Chimaev, if he commits to Middleweight after that weight cut problem. him vs Whittaker would be wild, since we know Whittaker won both times vs prime Yoel Romero-that adds up to 50 goddamn minutes in the cage with an Olympic medallist in freestyle wrestling. but maybe that doesn’t happen, who knows. apparently Pereira is the boogeyman to the casuals, but he has no wrestling worth a damn at this level, and will *definitely* fold against anybody who likes to grab. let Adesanya heal up, give Whittaker his easiest title shot in years, and Pereira will either show up to surprise us or be lost to history. aussie rugby boys still run with the best of them. whatever the case, 2023 will be a fun year.

What's so amazing about this is how Izzy is appreciating everything in the moment, as it plays out. Literally everyone else is bitter when they lose, and then when their career is done, that's when they show respect and acknowledge the other person's story. Izzy is doing it all now, in the moment. He's calling Alex's "I will kill you" moment poetic, whereas any other fighter would be like "whatever, fuck him." Izzy is a champ and legend on so many levels.

He has made nothing but excuses since the fight, and he gives Alex basically no credit. In the ring before the decision you could hear him say 'I fucking hate that guy', and when they shook hands Pereira said 'respect', whilst Izzy said some whack shit like 'I don't like you, you don't like me, but respect' which seemed to confuse Alex. Your a true champ Izzy. Pure class. U will always be considered one of the best champions and fighters of all time in my eyes whatever that is worth. God bless and it is an absolute pleasure to watch you fight. I hope you grace us with your presence in the ring again in the near future.

I kept looking at different possibilities...different ways the fight could have went. I didn't want to accept it like I was in there. Was proud of your performance and how you are moving forward after the result. One of the greatest champs. Can't wait for the recclaiming arc of your film.

Izzy fans are so weird, life isn't a movie/anime with arcs n shit 😆 He has only made excuses post fight? Why are you proud of that? Izzy needs to admit he lost fair n square, or he's getting slept next time.

Sorry if your lives are this stale and mundane waste of time pushing you to come watch this video and look for comments to react to negatively. No judgement. Wishing you the best.
