IRONMAN OCEANSIDE 70.3 - Race Weekend 2022

It was an epic day. Jenna and Miguel both obliterated their previous 70.3 PRs but that's just the start of it. The swim was straight out into the California surf (perfect for us). It was a hilly bike course with three major climbs. Miguel took strategic risks, pushing hard to stay with the top guys, while Jenna executed her plan to perfection and held her ground into T2. The run was mostly flat along the Oceanside boardwalk. Jenna took it out fast and didn't slow down, taking 10 minutes off her previous half marathon time. Miguel faded at the end, but got under 1:20 for the first time. All in all, Jenna won her age group (25-29) and finished 6th overall. Miguel came in third overall, second in his age group.

Jenna: "and I am really proud of myself." As you should. As a triathlete dealing with depression getting races cancelled due to C thing, and 4 weeks ago an injury due to a traffic accident, you guys keep me uplifted and motivated to keep training and try to do better. Usually around 9PM-the amount of sleep the night before the race doesn't matter as much as nights 2-3 days out
