Thanks for the review it helped me decide to purchase these. I managed to get them in brown direct from Freet. They arrived very quickly in UK. Ive been wearing them in all weathers while working on my allotment and found them warm and my feet have been dry. Ive added the 6mm insole for extra winter warmth as I bought a half size bigger to accommodate this. I find them really comfortable now I ve got used to the barefoot feel. Im a great fan of Freet shoes as I have fairly wide feet. Ive also bought the Talus for indoor use as well as the Citee and the Richmond. They are all pretty true to size and great value. After just 5 weeks I ve already noticed the benefits, no more restless leg syndrome, no more back pain and no sore free. My feet and legs dont get so tired as they used to and my posture has improved!

That's fantastic to hear, I also got myself a pair of the Richmonds and have been keeping an eye on the Citees for when they get my size back in stock.

I was two years old Mudee until they succumbed, and immediately bought the Tundras. The Mudee were definitely better for walking on wet sidewalks, or on concrete roads. With the Tundra I have fallen several times in the same conditions that my Mudee used without any danger. I don't advise buying the Tundra or the new Mudee 2 with the same sole and that pattern so sliding on wet floors, such as sidewalks, concrete tracks and steep roads, is like wearing skates.

I have found the tundras quite slippery on smooth surfaces as well. The rubber compound isn't the grippiest, but I think it is also worth remembering that deep lugs are designed for off-road walking and very bumpy terrain where they can dig in and shallower tread patterns are designed to give more surface area and grip for man-made terrain.

Excellent review! Thanks for commenting on the waterproof vs water resistant - that helped!

Thank you, as I mentioned in the video I was quite surprised by how good the water resistance actually is on these boots. However, Freet designed the fabric, they have done a really good job for something that isn't leather.

I got a pair and something that's bothering me is that the outsole seems to be rounded, not flat as I'm used to, such that the my feet do not feel "planted" on the ground. Have you found that the soles break in and become more flexible or flat to the ground?

Hi sorry I missed your comment for so long. This isn't something I have noticed but I can well imagine it is noticeable if you have worn standard right angled sole edges for some time. I think it is likely something that your body will get used to over time, our feet are after all rounded at the edges.

Thank you for the review, it is good. I was wondering if the shoes have a long life- do the soles last long when you walk on regular street surfaces? I have been seeing reviews that the GripPlus has better life to MultiGrip (which the Tundras are made of)?

I haven't noticed any excessive wear in mine from the harder surfaces. However, in my experience, the grippier (softer) rubber compounds on outdoor shoes often don't last as long as their less grippy (harder) counterparts. Everything is a trade-off somewhere in the end.

Thanks for the review. I decided to buy a pair of these. The only issue upon trying them on is that the collar is a bit stiff against the back of my leg above the ankle and is uncomfortable. Do these wear-in well?
@BrackenOutdoors Жыл бұрын
They do wear in with time, if you are not used to boots it might be a bit uncomfortable at first but it gets better with time as your feet adjust to new sensations as well.

How about the breathability?
@BrackenOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I haven't had any issues but I tend to run pretty cold and very rarely get properly damp feet. Certainly haven't had any more problems than with a typical pair of Gore-tex boots.

The pair I ordered had a seam running along the heel-cup on the inside. It rubbed on my heel quite a bit. Have you experienced this?
@BrackenOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I've never had any problems but I do tend to wear thick socks most of the year. I would see about trying to tie the base of shoe collar a little tighter to lock in your heel and/or reduce the volume in the main part of the shoe. If you'd like me to shoot a quick video to show you what I mean, let me know.
