I used one of these today, I put the nut provided on the back to give it extra threads, greased it and used an impact gun and it worked, tried an air hammer on it before and it was completely stuck so quite happy it done the job.

Cool, mine needed a 10 tonne press in the end.

Pretty common on these, I pull the shaft and hub out together then use a 50 Ton press on the shaft. (of course not everyone has a 50T press on hand)

Hmm should have remove the brake caliper first to clear ways for easier work done....it looks as though it blockings the way for the brake rotor to come out

It was seized solid. Scottish car and plenty of salt .

I'm trying to replace my backing plates. The rear passenger side fell right apart. The driver's side is seized to high hell. I'm going to try this trick. If that fails, time to take the entire knuckle off and get it to a press. Wonder how much the shop would charge to press it out. Or if I used a bottle jack somehow.

Curious what you did to finally get it removed. I had a similar issue, luckily my dad had a bigger air hammer laying around and i had an acetylene torch to heat it up which ended up doing the trick

Local workshop put a 20t press on it.

Just wondering if after putting a load of tension on it you left it overnight or maybe a couple of days it might be interesting.

Use hammer to knock it out if too much torque to crank it.

Took a 10 ton workshop press to get it out in the end.

uh your brake caliber is still on, and rotor. remove those put cv nut back on then try again

Nope tried that, i'm trying to push the drive shaft back though. Shop used a 20 ton press in the end.

That looks to me like your attempting to push that drive shaft whilst the hub is still connected to all the suspension components ????? Is the bottom ball joint disconnected? All your doing here is pushing the entire hub assembly and exerting pressure via the driveshaft into the gearbox. !!! Unless i'm missing something

Yea. I thought I was bottoming out on the driveshaft, as well, but there is clearance for it to move without disassembling much. My entire hub is loose with the axel shaft splines squinched in the knuckle. Yuck

Im mechanic u should also undo the tie rod end and the ball joint

Nope. Took it to a garage and tbey advised to change the tyres as they detected flat spots. Changed tyres noise went.

Next time apply heat - lots of it. Also leave the three wheel nuts slightly loose on the puller(2-3mm), put the drive shaft under pressure with the centre bolt, now whack the centre bolt of the puller with a mallet.

Cqr went to the garage where they had to remove the hub from the shaft. They pulled the shaft and put it in their 10 ton press to remove, that took time. Moral of the story is dont buy a car that is registered in scotland👍

You can’t pull the hub without removing the brake caliper.
