Zowie! Pete Fountain, Clarinet. This edition of Welk is long before my time, so it's fascinating to see how the format "evolved" from a sort-of jukebox format that fit the times.

Welk had two shows in the 1950s on ABC for a while the Saturday night Lawrence Welk Show also called the Dodge dancing party at the time and for a year or two he also had on another night on ABC top tunes and new talent.

This was another ABC show Welk hosted for awhile in the '50s. This was separate from his Saturday night Lawrence Welk Show, also called Dodge Dancing Party back then. Top Tunes and New Talent aired on another night on ABC.
