I wonder how many people, after seeing The Other Guys, came here to KZbin searching for "Reminiscing"....and found this video with "the other guy"(not the original singer) singing this song?
Too Funny...:):):)
And this video was NOT made because we want John back in LRB(that will never happen). This video was made for friends after John took a break from touring and recording.

@@kevind1931 WTH mate... John doesn't even think that way... he's sings that way because he can.. when you have a voice that is able to do an extreme amount, why would you settle for just singing the melody... different horses for different courses... if you watch Farnham getting interviewed by Roy & Hg, they ask him why he sings the way he does, and over the top... he answers it perfectly..'because he can'... it absolutely has nothing to do with competition... I'm so over this Farnham versus Shorrock debate... who cares, just enjoy both singers for what they do...

John Farnham's career launched to another level as a result of his involvement with LRB (Little River Band). He had to endure a lot of negative press personally through this time replacing LRB's founding lead singer Glen Shorrock who gave LRB much of their presence & respect in the music community, & deservedly so. John's vocal range & his ability to understand how to sing certain types of songs became very noticeable to everyone through this period with LRB. He went on to stand on his own 2 feet & be part of a band under his own name that produced the highest selling domestic Australian Album of all-time (at the time & possibly still). In the modern music world as a male vocalist, he still has few peers world-wide. An amazing voice that influenced & inspired many vocalists & performers here in Australia. Long live JPF!!

Got a treat for you... From the Land Down Under... John is Music Royality here, an ICON for all times... John Farnham, started in 1967 and was still performing into his 70s until Covid shut the country down. They put out a doco last year called John Farnham - Finding The Voice (that's what he is affectionately known as here "The Voice), he can sing anything and make it sound great. I'll drop a link or two to give you a taste and warn you if you start reacting to John, the Aussie Army will flood your channel. LOL if you decide to go exploring, make sure you only watch "Live" performances, he loves his fans and they love him back. He is the most down to earth loveable person, humble, funny and extremely talented. He even was the frontman for LRB for a time in the early eighties. First the trailer...kzbin.info/www/bejne/gqDGdJmZarV-qKc the next is one of the encores at the end of a 2+ hour concert 1986, a John Lennon number but John's version (JL heard it before he passed and said that was the way the song was meant to sound)...kzbin.info/www/bejne/mqeYZZqfhLiFgdU 1991 with another Aussie Legend Jimmy Barnes doing an old Sam Cook number.. kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3ycppt9otuibLc 1994 (while chewing gum LOL).. kzbin.info/www/bejne/moi3dpipl5x5qLs 1999 With Human Nature doing a Jackson Five number kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3ycppt9otuibLc 2000 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3ycppt9otuibLc So many to choose from, hope you like them. 💞

Trust me, as a trained vocalist, and not an image monger, I can attest that he is indeed one of the best pop vocalists that ever lived. It’s not just about hitting notes folks but also about tone, power, and vocal quality. And John Farnham had all of the above and then some, and then some again. It was the image mongers, like the morons over at Rolling Stone that kept him from getting the credit he deserved. Farnham’s voice was freakishly good.

Listen this kid ...even know he's not the original singer... Putting on a master class of vocals with rifts and chord changes its glorious actually if you're a music fan you got to like it🎉

Good morning. The first LRB's singer was Glenn Shorrock. He recorded Reminiscing in 1978 with the LRB. Perfect version. Anyway, He and John were fantastic.

And I most certainly remember the Original version! Loved it first as it was the one you heard a million times on the radio and the vocals were outstanding. This one just had that extra "voila'"......

John Farnham is "The Voice" in Australia. I have loved him since I was 14 years old, when I first saw him on stage. (For the Australians here, it was at Roselands in Sydney) Not only does he have phenomenal vocals, he is truly a nice guy with a great sense of humour.. He is battling some health issues at the moment and I pray for a complete recovery.❤🙏❤🙏❤

Just wow, I mean I love the original and how many came here thinking this would'nt be up to scratch. He does it his way but technically is soooo good. As for TLRB they always had great harmonies. So good.

This is fucking awesome. I wouldn’t go that far though. With some of the vocal acrobatics. The meaning of the song kind of gets lost. But that said, I keep coming back to to this over and over again.

The BVx are rock soild good too. Seriously high harmonies. I've just returned to this an hour later an force fed it into my ears at high level on studio cans. Yes, John Farnham is an absolutely bloody magnificent lead vocalist. Why would anyone refer to Springsteen as The Boss?

Vocals are kick ass, Bruce is the boss because of the whole package, it's the songs the swagger the vocal power n balls, plus the e street band is unbeatable in it's role

Amazing how you can take the original and make it better! We saw them on this tour in San Diego then ran into the bass player the next day at a card shop. He lives in San Diego. John blew the crowd away. He left you speechless. Perfect concert.
