It's a fair question: how much tiny but potentially catastrophic risk are we willing to tolerate for the possibility of huge scientific discoveries? Most likely there are no life forms in the samples. But if there are it would be both an unprecedented event in human history and, potentially, an unprecedented (if small) risk. Remember, also, that a huge majority of microbes on Earth are not dangerous to us and we inhale them in huge numbers with every breath.
