My religious neighbor lady used show up at our door offering to take our then 2 year old son to sunday school we graciously turned the offer down and explained we preferred to teach him how to think and not what to think. He is now a wonderful 15 year old who wants to study cultural anthropology! He helps us learn how to think!

Everyone is born atheist. Religion has to be taught. Atheism doesn't have to be taught.

I like the spirit behind this, but the more I think about it, I take issue with it: The same is true of language, and that doesn't diminish the validity or significance of language acquisition. All the best to you!

At the age of nine I could not resolve the fantasy of Christianity, having attended Sunday school while at the same time building radios for fun. Modeling airplanes, boats, ships, and assembling railroad systems on large surfaces with mountains, towns, switchyards and crossings suggested the factual importance of the way the real world works and how fantasy does not build anything. I couldn't belief myself into building a model airplane that actually flies, I had to observe specific rules of the world's physics. And I could demonstrate it in real-time, and did at school and at home as a child. It also helped that I grew up during the space race and the Apollo program. One of the messages from that program was humanity reaching out beyond it own conceptual understandings, one small step for humans, one giant leap for humankind.

It’s helpful to hear this discussion. I often keep my atheism to myself. I too would feel like in the case of a child I’m caring for that’s a member of my family that I need to be clear and honest.

I couldn't wait to read her book and I was not disappointed! I underlined a lot. so well written, and so resonant.

I'm actually reading the book now. I strongly recommend the book. I've been a secular jew for as long as I can remember. Yet just now, influenced by one of the book's messages, I started correcting people by replying " I'm actually secular " to any statement implying the supernatural being, or any type of observance of rituals.

Since leaving the Bible Belt region of the U.S. and becoming an atheist. I have finally seen the light so to speak. Growing up in that region you see so many people that are not healthy and are poverty stricken. But they still hold on to that belief system for some reason.

I really enjoyed listening to her. She makes sense to me. I was raised religious. But I have rejected it since I was a young teen. It just didn't make sense to me. I have raised two kind, consensious adults w/out religion.

When the sky meant the meaning of what the meaning of the sky should be, in spite of all this meaning, in the heart of the sky, the sky in looking at itself also meant the air, the same air that surrounds the earth today and has the same power. which is in the sky and has the form of an intelligent existence that can create beings within itself with its own will and give meaning to itself with its intelligence and the semantic form of air is like the sky which is deathless and eternal, the semantic changes in the air It does not mean death, but it means the evolution of meaning itself, and all kinds of creation in different forms of beings that are in the heart of air are part of the meaning structure of air, today's human self-knowledge is an isolated self-knowledge and also outside of the meaning structure, which if man Realize the understanding of resorting with each inhale and exhale to that which is in charge of the movement and even in the situation of need of the direction of human movement, then man will give an eternal and stable answer to the riddle of his mind, and the human being is only capable of understanding There is a meaning that he himself has meant

A typical example of a run off sentence, but the longest I've ever seen. Please, express your thoughts in 2-3 shorter sentences.

I don't care if people believe atheism is immoral or evil. If they try and tell me stuff I am very dismissive of their "logic" in a fun way.
