I think there is either a bug in 5.3.1 or it simply doesn't work this way anymore because when I hooked it up I could debug the PCG_Spline and it would show the points but when I hooked up the Density Noise it placed a conversion between them (Filter - Point) and the debug on the DensityNoise simply doesn't show anything. Also I should mention when I do this and enable the Debug on the DensityNoise function, my PC starts lagging really bad and it acts like it's building it but when it's done I don't see anything, so I'm leaning towards maybe a bug

I figured it out, if anyone has this problem go back to the PCG_Spline select the Output, and under the category at the top labeled 'Input' LOL (Confusing I know...very bad naming convention) create a new one and set it to 'Spatial' plug the Difference node into that and then continue on and that should fix it until they change things up again lol. Also, on the scatter one: When you setup the input to it do the same thing by selecting the Input and adding 'Custom Input Pins' and set that to 'Points' Do this because: 1. If you use the In/Input it will likely freeze your computer for several minutes as it did to mine. 2. Both In and Input nodes are being deprecated and will be removed in one of the next updates.

It looks like there is a bug in the 5.3.1 version when it comes to Subgraphs. When I get to the Scatter graph it works as expected, except that on top of the points from the scatter node it's also filling in the rest of the world with a grid 'Evenly spaced white boxes'. I'm not sure why it's adding that, debugging from the scatter graph doesn't show those white boxes. Also In order to see it I had to set the mode to Relative and scale it down or the white boxes would be so big they would block out the light and hide the Scatter nodes. Update: It is a bug, simply connecting the output of that node to something caused the issue to go away. No need to set the mode to Relative.

@@unrealdevop hey, I'm having the same issue. I've created the Spatial output you suggest but I didn't understand where I should put the Difference node

Found a solution. Before Scatter logic, I installed the node - Merge. It collects all the data about objects together and then node - Copy Points - works well.

@@vals4903 Wow, yes this was the issue for me. It is working now, thanks for the tip. [Density Filter] -> [Merge] -> [PCG_Scatter]

notice that in subgraph chapter, when you using scatter graph. make sure to add an point input at the input node,otherwise scatter graph wont work in my case.

Hey man awsome vid. Having an issue with the Subgraph though. At 5:55 when it didnt display the points and you fixed up the scatter graph. i also did the same. but it still doesnt display the points for me. have checked multiple times i have the same as you as best i can from the video but no luck.

Dont know if im right , but i suggest to make duplicate and change duplicate names into scatter and splineforSupgraph if you want to have the mains useable without supgraph or im wrong?

in 5.3 if PCG_Scatter doesn't show anything, add a Merge node before PCF_Scatter

Hey! Thank you for the tutorials they are really helpful! But am having trouble using splines on terrain that is not flat. It is extremely fidgety to get the splin's hight right to actually cut out of the biomes. I am working with projection nodes onto the terrain at the moment. This seems to have bad performance on larger areas though. Any tips?
@sunfix99110 ай бұрын
i wish i could finish these, i got stuck after setting the difference to subtract and my spline sampler in pcg splines says error and wants me to set the splines to closed loop, and they are..

can you randomly move the spline points randomly at runtime?

Yes, you should be able to do that through the spline's blueprint

For me it doesn't works, the "BP_OurSpline" doesn't show the points, when I put it in the PCG_Subgraph volume in the world, any ideas guys ?
@ParmidaRazavi-m6e Жыл бұрын
sometimes, the origin goes under the surface. Make sure u check all around the area. If they still dont shop up, check if there are any nodes with errors in the Spline graph itself. And, BIG And, I also could not see the points , then realized, that he had left the final node in Debug in the Spline. thats why he could see it immediately after dropping the Subgraph. If your Spline graph, has its last node un Debug preview, you should see the points inside the spline.

what worked for me was, under your PCG_Spline graph - "get spline data" node, check the "select multiple" checkbox

The PCG Scatter no longer works this way, there is no "Create Points Grid" note in Final 5.2 :)

I'm using the 5.2 final release and I see it. Also, any depreciated nodes from the Preview releases are in Execute Blueprint > Blueprint Element Type.
