It's super interesting to see how you make your sound libraries - I trained as an audio engineer years ago and I'm just getting back into sound as a way to get out and explore. Loving the inspiration and energy you bring - please do keep making these videos for us!

Thank you so much for watching and your positive comment! Last night we finished our next video. Zoom H1 Essential in Hong Kong. It's been a while since our last video but it's coming. :)

amazing as always, love that you always give reasons for some of the things that are going on in that location, like making you wear a vest or the constant beeping noises -- and showing locals being kind --- just fantastic, and very human! you two are fantastic!

Thank you Michael!! Not to mention the teddy bears :). Taiwan is just another level when it comes to cuteness and kind people. We hope you have the chance to visit!

You inspired me to get a stereo mic and record ambient sounds in northern Greece, the birdlife was amazing. I had a classic moment when I thought the Left and Right channels were mixed up so switched the cables and then back again --- then I found I was wearing the headphones the wrong way round! 🤣

Welcome to Taiwan! I hope you have a wonderful journey here. I've been following your KZbin channel for quite some time now and have learned a lot from it. It has been very inspiring for me. I really enjoy watching your entire process of work and travel. I also hope to enjoy each place like you do. Thank you very much for your channel. I was a big fan of the sounds you guys captured around the dcks, I enjoyed the creaking and the motors running. I think it would be really great if you and Libby took a boat trip and recorded the sounds from on the boat itself. You could do a ferry crossing, or maybe if you ask nicely you could get out on a fishing boat. I love what you produce and look forward to whatever comes next

Love your channel! I especially enjoy the vibey videos like this one - not really about gear but about sound and experiencing a place. So many people take photos, but remembering the sounds of the place fascinates me. The sound on my videos are probably horrific by your standards, but I do my best to think of sound as a major consideration in each vlog I do. My husband Logan and I are in Taipei at the moment and are loving it. Wishing you well, If you ever find yourself in NZ do reach out. :-)

Most people don't know that there is a lot of sound out there. They don't realize that a recorder picks up EVERYTHING!

Am I dreaming or D100 doesn't have any preamp noise whatsoever? I'm really trying to hear any type of hissing without luck. I can hear that the internal mics gain was pretty high on all recordings.

Hi Marcel, Libby, are you concerned or have an opinion about your sound recordings being scraped off the internet by the new AI companies for training data sets? Your work would be a prime target for this I would think. Perhaps you thought of this already.
@FreeToUseSounds8 ай бұрын
Hello Jakob! Apologies for the delayed response. This is definitely something that can and will happen. However, credible companies interested in our sound recordings, and looking to use them to train their programs, would reach out because they adhere to license agreements. In fact, several companies already have, but even with significant budgets, they were not willing to pay the price we set for our bundle. Its fair to say we were among the first to set up a license agreement that prohibits the use of our sound recordings as a dataset for AI or machine learning. However, we can't prevent an individual from purchasing our bundle on Gumroad and creating something like text-to-speech software using our sounds, even if they're not permitted to do so.

Libby, are you taking pictures for stock footage sales as well as shooting these videos? I was always wondering about that...
@FreeToUseSounds9 ай бұрын
Hi! Oh no we don't that.
@StarskyHomer9 ай бұрын
Is there a reason why? You are great at what you do! By selling images and video there could come a lot more apprecitation your way :) @@FreeToUseSounds
@FreeToUseSounds9 ай бұрын
@@StarskyHomer Absolutely, there is indeed a reason why we choose not to go down that path. We believe we've struck a nice balance as it is, and we prefer not to tip the scales by venturing into areas that might bring unnecessary stress. It's all about maintaining harmony in what we do.

Don’t get caught up in the drive to provide KZbin ‘content’; as you said, your viewers are a really specific subset of people who are quite willing to just wait until you have something of interest to put out there.
@FreeToUseSounds9 ай бұрын
Oh yes we won't feed into the machine of creating content for contents sake. We see you in the next one :)
