Another great ride. I don't recall ever seeing a vid on Tucson. Great looking freeway through there, ADOT and the city planners should be proud of the job they did on that stretch. Thanks for showing it off.

socarboy : Thanks, man! ScrewdUpClickV2 actually did one, a few years back. I guess you could say this is sort of an update to the recent happenings around Tucson. Thanks for watching!

Great video, stayed in Tucson about 6 months back in 2008. Can’t wait to go back....especially when I see the people there actually treat the left lane as a passing lane, as it’s supposed to be

Thank you Brent for letting me cruise through Tuscon with you. I know its virtual. But its a great video. It's been 30 years since I have been through there. Again thank you. /bow

J.R. Taylor : I'm sure *a lot* has changed since your last drive-through, 30 years ago, lol. Someone on my Facebook fan page linked me to a photo from as recently as 2001, and nothing about the freeway looked even remotely similar. Arizona DOT did a wonderful job with the entire reconstruction.

Very nicely done Brent. Arizona's highways continue to amaze me.

TheSolarcatcher : Thanks, dude! You need to start planning your own trip to Arizona and the western US, so you can see in person just how amazing the scenery really is.

Excellent production as usual, looking forward to seeing this in person.

Freewayjim : Thanks, Jim! I recommend you taking a quick detour, and driving the WB I-10 flyover to SB I-19, and then take the first offramp to get onto I-19 North and reconnect back to I-10. You get a fantastic panoramic view of the Tucson Mountains (and if you're being very observant, the other 4 mountain ranges that ring Tucson) that you saw in the very beginning of this video.

I was there back in September and saw this myself. I especially loved those murals, thanks for slowing it down for them! :)

IsoscelesKramer : Yeah, it looks totally different from the first time I drove through here, when it was all still being torn up and rebuilt from practically the ground, up. I have to say...I think you've been following me now since my channel went public in 2009. Thanks for following me this entire time! I'm sure you've noticed the gradual evolution from my simple videos with the Canon, to what my videos have become today.

That's right! Has it been 6 years already? I remember I subscribed after seeing your I-10 in El Paso video. You've done amazing work throughout and I love this new style! Can't wait for more!

IsoscelesKramer : Yeah, it really has been 6+ years. Seemed like it sort of just flew by, before my very eyes. Funny you mention the I-10 video from El Paso...I'm actually working on a new version, as I type this. I don't anticipate it being released until early July, as I'm releasing another El Paso-area video first (projected release will be 2 weeks from now). All I can promise is that it'll be a much better video, lol.

Yes, it's a major improvement over the old I-10 through town. Wish I had worked on my other Arizona videos after I recorded them, but I've been focused on my Australia and New Zealand footage over the past couple of years. Feel free to check out my Waterview Tunnel video from Auckland, when you have a chance. Cheers!

Great work on this! Loved the track and scenery featured in this video! I can't believe it's been over six years since I drove this stretch of road. Struggling to recall if the upgrades and widening (as seen in the video) on I-10 were completed at that point. Anyway, awesome job, and can't wait to see what else you filmed!

Nice Brent! Loved the music. I was just in Phoenix last weekend and very impressed with their freeway network, especially how nice I-10 and the US-60 freeway are. I also drove all of the Loop 202 and went out and drove the new Loop 303 on the far west side of the metro. Arizona seems very progressive in their freeway building.

PeteTheChopp : I saw your comment briefly a few days ago, but got really slammed with work. Wanted to acknowledge your comment. Thanks for stopping by again! I'm going to be releasing video #2 from my May 2015 road trip, in less than 2 weeks from now. Phoenix's freeway network has grown leaps and bounds...definitely a very well designed network, all things considered.

FreewayBrent in Clearview just hasn't quite adjusted with me yet, lol ... but this video is very fun, as usual! Definitely approached it in a different, but equally good, way than ScrewdUPClickV2. Looking forward to more from this trip, especially from Texas!
@FreewayBrent9 жыл бұрын
InterstateJD : lol...yeah, Clearview in a FreewayBrent video seems a bit odd...but there will be a lot more Clearview featured, as the videos get worked on, one by one. All in all, I filmed enough footage for 7 videos in El Paso, I-10 through west Texas and the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I may fly back for an extended weekend, once the LBJ project is complete, to film it in its entirety. No Austin-area videos; I was pretty much rained out for most of the time I was there.

Since 2015, I-10 has gotten even better with the bridges over I-10 at Ina Road, and more recently Ruthrauff Road. Each overpass took about 2 years to complete. West of Orange Grove, near the end of the video is when you start going into Marana, AZ.

There's a proposal in the future to build another freeway that connects to I-10 (near Rita Rd.) to I-19 (near Pima Mine or Sahuarita Rd.). In the near future The AZ-210 (Aviation Pkwy) will either connect I-10 at Valencia Rd. or Alvernon Way. Currently the road is being extended to current St. Mary's rd to junction at I-10. There won't be an added interchange in that area though.
@FreewayBrent9 жыл бұрын
Jose Garcia: Interesting. They could definitely use another freeway or two in the region...seems a bit odd that many, many miles of the northern suburbs have absolutely no freeway access at all.
@garcjr9 жыл бұрын
FreewayBrent I just read that part of the highway bill that just passed the Senate includes funding for two Interstates into Tucson. One of them is I-11 that would more than likely run down Avra Valley (West of Tucson) to Sahuarita Rd. and I-19. The other Freeway would connect I-10 to I-19 this would be Arizona's first, built, three-digit interstate. As far as the northern suburbs go there might be a proposal to run a freeway up La Cholla Blvd to meet up with AZ-77 in Oracle Junction. I first heard about this ten years ago so this may-or-may not happen; although there is a lot of vacant land along the road currently. What would be a greater possibility is grade separated interchanges along some of the major roads here. Bring up a freeway (or grade separated interchange) in Tucson will stir up tense debate on whether it should be built-or-not. A lot of people like the lack of freeways and others don't. Voters have consistently voted down any freeway project into the Tucson area since the '70s or '80s. Just recently we also voted down a light-rail system. I'm for a balanced transportation approach so I support freeway and light-rail options as well as commuter rail. Anyway I enjoy your videos I've been watching them for years.

The City of Tucson has had since the early 1990's to link Avaition up to I-10 just North of St. Mary's and also with I-10 near Valencia Road, but never ever bothered to do it at all. I-10 from Kino Parkway East to mile marker 311 just East of Benson needs to be 3 lanes in each direction as Vail, Mescal & Benson are growing and are not little villages any more. In Pinal County there are 2 stretches of I-10 from Exit 160 in Chandler to Exit 185 near Casa Grande and from Exit 196 to mile marker 198 in Casa Grande that needs to be 3 lanes in each direction and are either at and/or are past the saturation point as far as traffics goes between Phoenix, Casa Grande & Tucson.

mcpish : Somewhat similar scenery...that's for sure...Arizona and Nevada do seem to have some similar construction techniques, and aesthetic treatments to their newer freeways.

Adot needs to expand the east side lanes to three each side . Traffic gets backed up so bad . From vail to kino would be nice ...
