There are two youtube channels that have helped me define my own adventure perspectives. Yours, of course, where photography Jon's the motorcycle adventure in simplicity and good taste and "Le nez dans le moteur" a French "senior" film maker that's shows us how beautiful our countries are. Both of you, as I now, ride an himalayan. At 67 years of age, you inspire me to keep living the adventure of life lived to it's fullest. "Optimus temporibus" : the best of times! Thank you for being who you are!
@freewayproject Жыл бұрын
Thanks mate, really glad you are enjoying the series, and yes it all about finding your adventure. I check out Le nez dans le moteur and his latest episode he rides over Le Mont Ventoux which is funny, I used to be a professional athlete based in Saint Paul Trois Chateaux in France near there and riding to the top was a weekly training ride (on a bicycle no engine back in the day).

Mate you really are a glutton for punishment, lol. Your film making is fantastic by the way! I really like the way the Himalayan is so old school, it really helps when things go tits up! It's a real treat for me being in the UK to see trips like this in real wilderness, it must take a certain amount of courage. Your films do have a feel good factor which just adds to the adventure! Cheers🍺👏😀👍

Mate what an adventure, the funny thing is someone will read this comment some time in the future when you have 1m+ subs and without me mentioning you only had just under 8k when I wrote this, they will be stunned that they didnt find your amazing channel until they did. Sometimes we dont know what we are missing out on in life until we find them, you are one of them! Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously thru you, until i get my bike and start my own journey on two wheels because Im itching to ride, its funny with what ive spent on good quality riding gear i could have already bought a really cheap bike with that money haha but many good things come with patience :)

Hey Joe. Stunning 😉 I thoroughly enjoyed your series - a real cracker. At last there's someone who can ride a bike, tell us a story AND use a camera (and post) to give us a top quality result. I watch a lot of moto vloggers (some with 1M+ subs) and I think you're one of the few who can nail all 3 - a triple threat as they say. I really enjoy that you research the places you're going to and you give us a bit of the history behind each place; and its not just here's a road, here's some corners, here's a town, this is what I ate from breakfast and that's where I slept. There's no BS in your vids - no stunts, no gimmicks, no 'lets do something stupid' for click bait. My only minor suggestion would be to feature some of the locals a little more - not much - just a smidge more. There are other moto vloggers who swing too far in that direction and spend 80% of our time talking with the locals, and we only get to see a few mins of riding and the scenery. I do enjoy hearing from the locals and their stories - it adds the richness of the story - but it can be overdone. Anyhow keep it up. Keep travelling, keep filming, keep giving us a history lesson, and keep enjoying yourself and taking us along with you. I wish you the all best and hope you gain a strong following. I hope you get to ride in NZ one day - I can't wait to see NZ through your lens if you do - you'll have find another word to use tho since stunning is reserved for Tas 🙂

Thanks for the support William, glad you enjoyed there series. thanks for the suggestions, I didn't really have a plan on how I was going to film the journey so it was really like a test run. I'll hopefully refine it in the next one and take your suggestions onboard. I am going to head off on the next adventure soon, I think I'll head west…..that's all I have planned, so the rest will just be winging it. But the next trip after that I am planning on heading to NZ. I have heard around February March April is a good time. I'll have to do a lot more research for that one. I am gathering there are a thousand place to see. It would be good to get on dirt roads and tracks for most of it. Are you allow to free camp over there?
@ashleymoore8 Жыл бұрын
@@freewayproject I like that you’re a bit lose with your plans and you don’t overplan it 👍 Re NZ. I don’t think you’re allowed to free camp over there you must camp in a designated camping spot with facilities from memory. I went in Sept. Don’t go in Sept - it pretty much rained the whole time. Research on Feb - from memory they had a lot of rain in Feb this year. I reckon Oct might be ok to capture spring colours or Mar / Apr to capture the Autumn colours. I guess it depends on whether you’re going to the NI or SI. So many great roads there even if you stay on the tar. Off road would be next level

Thanks for the journey joe thoroughly enjoyed the series, cant wait for the next adventure you take us on, seeing those cane fields made me wonder if your north of the gold coast we are probably neighbors. Once again thanks mate and ride safe.

Thanks for the support Jason, glad you enjoyed the series, I am going to head off on the next adventure soon, I think I'll head west..... that's all I have planned, I'll wing the rest. I am on near the NSW / QLD border those cane fields are near Murwillumbah, I just have to find somewhere where I can ride my dirt bike in sand to skill up, then ride the Himalayan in it, the only real issue I have had is when I get to deep sand 😂 but there's another really close, how well it will be paddling through the sand for a bit longer.

Thank Bill, glad you enjoyed the series. I am on the next trip and well I tried to test the limits of the Himi but couldn't reach it, I was handing on for dear life and it just kept going through some serious terrain. That will be in the first few episode when I get a chance to edit and upload.

What a beautiful trip mate, and incredible storytelling/filming. You've convinced me there's absolutely no better way to explore this country. As a Port local that's finally got the Himalayan I ordered a few months ago I appreciate seeing firsthand the condition of that Crescent Head track! I did it in 2020 in RAV4 that got stuck and even then it wasn't that bad. Because you mentioned the tracks inland from Coffs - if you haven't been through Dorrigo, Bellingen etc, definitely add those to the list. Never Never Creek is one of the most beautiful places I've ever been to and the swimming is phenomenal, the countryside around is spectacular and Dorrigo mountain has some great twisties for the bike. Dangar falls nearby also. It's also a great road through the New England National park to Point Lookout which has incredible views, one of the highest points in the region and you can see all the way down to Port. Whatever the next adventure is cant wait to tune in!

Thanks for the support Chris, glad you enjoyed the series. Yes that road is getting rough around the edges. I am going to head off on the next adventure soon, I think I'll head west but I may have to come a bit south first haha.

yes the beast (Himalayan) can take some punishment from me, makes up fro my lack of ability, apparently I did burn the clutch plates right out but we are looking out it now to see if I should put some fresh ones in. Thanks for the support David, glad you enjoyed the series. I am thinking of heading west on the next one....... that's as far as the planning has got 😂 but that's all I'll need to start.
