Freewell Magnetic, KASE or K&F Concept Nano-X Magnetic Cap Hack

In this video, you’re looking at a Hack Freewell Magnetic Quick Swap Cap. It has a smartphone Finger Ring Holder Stand on it.
The stars in this video are the Sony A7IV, the god’s lens Tamron 35-150mm f/2-2.8, and the Freewell Magnetic Quick Swaps systems (with magnetic ND, and UV filters and the magnetic cap).
These Magnetic Quick Swap filters are great, innovative, so convenient. I often switch between an ND and a UV. So quick and easy swap. Ease of use…as long as the magnetic lens cap is off. AND trying to pry out the lens cap between a lens hood is not that convenient. Without this ring holder, if I pull the cap with my fingers like this, I’m pulling with forces All around the outer edges, and I feel I may pull the filter behind along with it. And with this hood, it’s tougher to get my fingers around the edges of the cap. There just isn’t enough room to pull out the cap comfortably. WITH this ring holder on the cap, things are much easier.
The Finger Ring Holder Stand uses a strong VHB tape. That people use it to mount pictures on the wall. Use it on metals, plastics or glass. Very strong adhesive. So, it’ll stay.
Now, there is an alternative form. You could use a pop socket instead.
You could obviously use ONE like this on the KASE Wolverine Magnetic Lens cap. And on the K&F Concept Nano-X Magnetic cap as well.
Finally, I use a Messenger Sling Bag for my camera-lens combination. For me the lens hood is necessary. It protects the lens cap and the filter from displacing inside the bag when I’m active or when there is bumping here and there. I don’t believe the magnet is that perfectly strong to keep everything in place. It is pretty strong, but I can still bump it off. Anyway, the Ring Holder stays inside, no problems.
