I hate to say it but I like it sometimes when you guys crash the planes. The reason being is you show on video exactly what this hobby is all about. At the flight field I go to sometimes they have a saying....Take-offs are optional, landings are mandatory. You don't have to fly. You don't have to labor and spend so many hours on a plane and then send it up into the clear blue. If that is what you want from this hobby, then the hobby for you might be building plastics models you can build and display on a shelf. The beauty of this sport is after all of the building and set-up you can put these pieces of art into the sky. Unfortunately, crashing is something that will happen to all of us no matter how good we are and how careful. Thanks for risking these beautiful planes and showing it on video if the results happen to be catastrophic. Also, thank you for all of other times the planes fly and bring us all so much joy. Your channel shows it all. Don't change a thing about your videos because the only thing better than a perfect maiden flight is a perfect redemption flight. Best channel for rc planes and for the people that love this hobby.

Robert Petrinčič no reason to doubt your flying skills buddy, you have hours of videos up already that are a testiment to that. EDFs are twitchy, and even worse on asphalt when you're dealing with smaller planes, in my opinion. Your videos are awesome and I look forward to each and every one of them - even the ones with crashes - we all know the feeling of crashing one of our birds.. So get back up, find a day with good time and enjoy the hobby my friend. BR from Denmark.

Awwwwwwh. I was so worried yet so hopeful that this would be a good flight. My heart sunk when you said that you were going to use the landing gear first and hand launch on the next flight. I sensed something bad was coming. I always maiden my 64mm F-18 s by hand launch, because it gives me more landing options if something goes wrong. Then once I got it all trimmed to where it flies comfortably and I know where It it's going to go and what It it's going to do, I may try it with the wheels. I feel terrible, maybe even more than you do. I plan to maiden my FMS 64mm F-18 Blue Angel perhaps next week and hopefully get it trimmed out. But I will absolutely hand launch it without the wheels. Then I have a whole field to land it in. Don't give up on it. Often times a repaired plane can be better than it was before.

I thought you had it Capt. this is how things usually work out for me too the first thing I do is break the plane on maiden then she always flies sweet after some hot glue. keep on trying the asphalt it's tricky at first but sure is alot of fun flying on the ground as Well as in the air. that's what you must realize is on take and landing you have to fly it all the way to a stop no relaxing until she stopped. sorry to see the F-18 hit the pole. she is a beautiful PLANE 😋

@ayyappa782 жыл бұрын
to me looks like both elevators were not at same level. Right elevator was higher than left or push rods were connected to different holes in servo horn. Take off was at high rates which would amplify the behavior when elevators are deflected full . A common issue one can face with two servos operating elevators. Wind definitely can effect but it is worth checking this too . my 2 cents

Pilot Robert you must fix that plane and go back there and be successful thats a must!!!! Oh man, I can see why most of your flight videos are on the grass field. Yeah, flying from asphalt is kind of intimidating because the damage potential is higher than on grass. @angelreading50987 жыл бұрын
You two are the best guys on KZbin for frank honest appraisals,this was just bad luck as the Hornet was not quite fully at its comfortable flying speed and veered off to the right hitting that pesky lamp post,you would be better at the quarry as not so many obstructions there and those nasty curbs that wreck propellers and undercarriages,also could you lay some runway boards down at your own field ? enough to get airborne.

Perfect set up and CG! I have this plane and she flies great! 3 minutes is all you can get on most EDF's. The Freewing 64mm needs a long runway to take off. It's very fixable! We too have hit many post's, cars, curbs, flag poles, buildings and each other! HaHaHaHaa. No big deal. And that's the way to video, always get the crash and damage report! WooHoo. We all have days like that. Check our crash of the Beaver in the lake! And we were not flying off the lake! HaHaHaHaa Capt Rick took off from the grass. Actually that is a very good place to learn to fly. Exactly like our old spot. If you learn to handle your planes there then you will be able to fly anywhere! WooHoo.

I follow and know your work and pilot skills so with full competence I conclude that this model is a "piece of garbage". I want you to continue to fly and do not let this "case" to stop both of you. All the best.

From the looks of the video as it came up the right wheel caught the side walk edge causing it to tilt right.
@PetrincicBrosRC7 жыл бұрын
Like you said Morris. And then there was the lamp. But the baby is fixed and ready to be in the air once more. And this time it will take off from my hand. Be well, Robert
