On my scratch-built panther i have to set the elevator to neutral and it will launch fine. the smallest up elevator is death. i also added about 20% expo to the elevator. cured the problem for me.

Maybe I said it wrong in the video, you want down elevator. Just for the hand launch. You actually have to be holding it a bit as you throw her.

Nice video David. She is nice in the air for sure. I have heard of people putting a little bit of screen to cut down on how much air is pulled into the cheaters. Little tip, Tie a light piece of ribbon to the handle of your radio and you can get a wind direction check ;). Thanks for posting.

I just bought this plane used, $50 whats your thoughts on adding an AS3X reciever to this to help the issue you mention? I just watched a Petrocic Bros video and they had the same issue. Kudos to you for figuring our why it does this. This will be my first EDF and it looks like a handfull but for $50 I cant pass it up.

You should try taping over the "cheater holes" and open up the intakes, that might make it launch a bit easier, idk it's just and idea

FlyRC I was thinking about doing something like that to it. If you try and do half or three quarters throttle it doesn't lift. has to be pinned all the way. wish I could have gotten a mig video in today. She was acting up. One of the servos was acting up. Its better now. I was going to do another flight tomorrow and show another way I launch that plane. she Flys amazing once she's up and flying. super fun. almost as fast as some of my 70 mils. I'm going to put a 45 amp esc in it and a 12 blade fan. same motor just putting nicer fan in it. thanks for watching. we will get her figured out putting our heads together.

Cheap and fun. I like the Sabre and the panther the best out of the 64mm. I guess the f18 and f15 are pretty good too. I bet that f15 goes really good.

I have the freewing mig that goes nose up with a 2200 3s right up front and crashes worst plane I've had from motion rc

Yeah that mig 15 needs a bit of down trim to start, plus some extra nose weight. All of the mig 15s are a tail heavy mess

bs. IF suction at a cheater hole Could influence a model's flight path, the location of the cheater on this model would Pull the nose DOWN. since this idea is a complete fantasy, you are free to try again. cheers

David Davids and by the way that cheater holes are right in front of the edf in the middle of he plane. So how would that pull the nose down. Do you even have this plane. Because obviously I do and I have over 100 flights on it. Lol. Your a funny guy. Or kid. Who knows???

@@DavesRc I am wanting to buy the panther but concerned about the high angle of attack when hand launching it. I think a launch overhand might be better than under hand. Do you recommend this plane? Thank you

Version 2 is still dogshit. I just maiden crashed this model. Frustrating. There goes my Summer jet. looks cool, good fan uit, good build, absolute trash launch design.
