Crashed mine this weekend and appears to have had issue with elevator control. No video but what you described with yours sounds like what I experienced. At slow speed, about 140’ altitude, something didn’t feel right. Decided to abort my effort to land and go around. I traveled straight and level for 100 yards and I felt disconnected from model again. The nose dropped and she was headed for the ground. My full power command and attempt to correct flight path did not work. It flattened out at best and pancaked in. Had new stab servos, upgraded DuBro links on stabs, stock wiring of bb. Elevator servos worked fine post crash. Still need to strip it down and do more testing.

I just had the same thing happen and suffered a total loss as well due to a total loss of elevator control at full power..I installed the new servo upgrade and it still failed.

Make sure to contact Motionrc and make a ticket with the customer service dept. It may help you and others address a larger issue.

Sorry to hear about both of your crashes. I've noticed with flaps down the elevator becomes very anemic to the point my friend only uses flaps for take off and not for landings in more. Almost caused the exact crash your describing at our field. I think the flaps block airflow to the elevators.

@@SasquatchPNW the flaps or flap servos could be a issue but I flew my first 10 flights doing nothing but take offs and landings due to low clouds. Used the heck out of the flaps without issue then. The first day I have clear skies, the MiG crashes on second flight of the day. With all the telemetry I was running and what jeti provides in their flight log, I could find nothing wrong with radio signal, battery power to motors, bec power to rx power bus, etc. I could not test blue box adequately, and everything works, post crash. Oh well, I’ve got a ton of spare parts now :). Avanti has a new 80 mm inrunner in it now, to be tested tomorrow and I have the option to run the MiG powertrain in my FW A10 as well. So, not all lost.

Thanks Jeff! Get the word out for sure, Motionrc basically told me that I was wrong and experienced RF issues which is hard to prove of course for them...in which I have never ever experienced with my futaba radio set up in all the 14years I have been flying..I even Spoke to the owner Tom and realized he was more into finding reasons to say no then trying to help me...I even have full video of the crash I sent to them which I will be uploading soon...its just very disappointing and contrary to what you hear about Motionrc's customer service..🙇‍♂️

I live in South Korea. I bought and assembled Mig29. But I still don't think about flying because many videos point to the problem of Mig29. I want to fly comfortably as soon as the cause is revealed.

I have bought it, and I have never done full power dives. I never will. Seems fine turning hard with full power, CG is behing the mark by one finger, when gears are out. Your setup seems nose heavy. And I have added reflex to the flaps and alierons aswell, just like on the real plane. (except the flaps)

Did you install the upgraded servo? Did you bypass the blue box?

I did install the new upgraded servos but didn't bypass the blue box.I contacted motion on the following monday and the customer service rep recommended I bypass the Ailerons and elevator and plug them straight into my reciever. I think the blue box was the culprit but dont know for sure!

@@RCPlaneReviewer yes of course I'm just double-checking. That is also why they included the extra wire harness is it for those who want to be sure that there's no blue box failure as well for the elevator. But definitely double check that you have a solid connection with your BEC as well. It is definitely more difficult the bypass the ailerons because it is the white cable.

@@RCPlaneReviewer I haven't had any issues with my mig. My F-18 is also good. Never had an issue on the Tomcat. But I did need to bypass a few things on my f22.

hello , patrick is my name and i am from europe,nice to meat you guys......i wanna purchase this plane but i have seen a lot of accident here on youtube due to the "elevator" problem, does motion knows about this problem? as you say before, they release him with "upgraded servo's"?? wich ones did they use to perform the upgrade?many thanks guys

Motionrc is aware of the servo issue and has sent out new stronger servos.Also you must set the elevators to 1mm of up before you do a Maiden.
