This is definitely one of the best models Freewing has. One of my club members had his out at our funfly last month. Winds were not favorable (15-20+) and this thing loved it...

Cool flying Wes! That was not quite a cobra though, the plane needs to keep flying forward. You had a bit too much speed... my two cents: Go slightly higher and practice letting speed go down before pulling full back on the sticks. Actually, at the beginning I recommend to shutting engines off completely and seeing how the plane behaves with pure stab input at different speeds. Over a few flights you'll progressively get the hang of it. As soon as the jet is nose up, start adding throttle back in to pull out with authority. And while at it, and as mentioned in another comment, you could try relaxing the CG further aft. At least bring it to 160mm (I typically recommend 165, or 170+ for those that really want to go wild, but it gets tricky to handle there). Otherwise it's akin to flying a formula one race car with the handbrake left on. ;) No need to rush it, but if you want to experiment the full aerobatic potential of this bird, I'd suggest you modify the setup in incremental steps and you'll see the handling improves substantially! Not to mention... split the stab channels and program tailerons. A must-do with this model! ;) Best regards!

Great flying Wes. Hi Lori n MRC. Would be great to see a few more flights of this SU-35. It has been available for a long time and I've always wanted this EDF, but it's still a little beyond me to this day. The Thrust Vectoring on this and the F-35 V2 just makes them special EDF jets to own. AirHammer out!!

Nice Video ,I agree the wind at Mulberry can be weird at times. The Freewing SU-35 is one of my favorite Jets with or with out gyro it does well. Nice Job.

You’re obviously a pro but., what pilot level is this jet advertised as? Also how are you mixing your channels ?

That cg needs to move aft, but it really is a fun plane!
@shelbyseelbach95682 жыл бұрын
It doesn't NEED to move back. What you mean is you would move the CG back if you were flying it, correct? Each pilot is pretty much free to set their CG wherever they would like on their own plane, right? That's how we fly at my field. I guess you set everyone's CG at your field. So funny, man. Just let the man fly how he wants. LOL
@cwwisk2 жыл бұрын
@@shelbyseelbach9568 yeah, you are right. But for the maneuvers he was flying, this airframe benefits from a more aft cg. I fly mine balanced or even a hair tail-heavy with tailerons because the plane will handle it, and it handles way better in those floaty alpha-maneuvers with an aft cg. It is fun to fly however a person flies it. All I'm saying is when the jet is designed around post-stall handling capabilities, a successful RC version such as this is going to have a lot of room for error when it comes to cg. I'd be scared to put the battery where he did.
@shelbyseelbach95682 жыл бұрын
I don't mean to sound like a jerk, but you're comment just reads as "your doing it wrong, but it really is a fun plane" to me. I simply don't understand why people feel it necessary to do that. Just seems snooty and somewhat rude to me. You could just as easily have said: "Nice flight, James. This is a fun plane. I prefer to fly with the CG back a little further than it looks like you had it. Give it a try sometime. You may like it, I sure do. Keep em flying." No reason to tell him how he NEEDS to fly whatsoever. Wes has always looked like he knows how to fly just fine and always seems to be enjoying himself. Which is all he NEEDS to do, have fun.
