We have a bottom freezer and I keep it pretty well organized. I keep frozen veggies/fruit on top, then meats only in the left bucket and breakfast, bread and premade things (chicken nuggs, etc) in the right bucket.

I used to send buckwheat pancake mix to my dad in Ga, he loved them and he couldn't find it. Well dad passed away 5 years ago today. His neighbor/friend fell in love with the pancakes through dad and now I send him the mixes every Christmas. 🤗 Sams Club members mark organic pasta sauce is really good!!

I do this with my freezer every month or two. I take out everything, give it a good clean, then update the inventory list of what's in my freezer. I do the same with my fridge every month where I take out everything and clean it, but I also do a small weekly organization and inventory without removing everything. It helps so much with meal planning and cutting down on food waste

I recommend fruit/veggies and treats ontop and meat on the bottom. Would rather have fruit sitting next to my ice and incase theres an outage or accident id rather have fruit juice on my meat than meat juice on my fruit. Just my over thinking lol. Love your vids!

I was thinking exactly this. I thought you did great those lower drawers are hard. If it were me I would put all the meat down below. Don't mix the meats or stuff too full. Like one type of meat per container say, or zone. Sausage on the left quarter, beef on the right. Miscellaneous pinto beans in the front. Fruit and those harvest cups on the top.

I usually place my stuck plastic containers in the freezer for about 10 minutes. Cold usually shrinks and hot will expand.

when I had a chest freezer I would use those dollar store like baskets, cos they came in the colors of food prep, so red for red meat, brown for cooked meat, blue for fish, green for veggies, white for dairy, i think i had purple for fruit or yellow can't remember, but then i would know. and also writable magnetic stickers on the outside that help me see what's inside. i would remove the magnet when i took something out and stick it on the side. helped with meal planning, cos i could just pick and mix the different magnets. and the colored baskets help you organize everything in the long run,all the same baskets look nice but i think stuff is gonna creep into other bins. looks good though right now

Christine, you need Souper cubes. You freeze your food into squares and 4 squares fit into a gallon zip lock. They’re amazing. It’s the freeze lemon juice in ice cube trays idea, but shapes that stack (squares vs circles) and a lid when freezing so whatever your freezing doesn’t go everywhere! No more bulky zip lock bags of beans that are odd shaped that don’t stack! Look them up, just do it!

What about taking all three freezers you have and organising them together. For example 1 have all your meat, 1 have all your freezer meals, 1 with frozen veggies, breads etc or something like that. That way it's more sorted and you know if you want meat you can go to 1 place and find what you need.

I think the snafu might have been that you measured the size of the plastic drawers, not the available space. To organize things don't have to fit perfectly, they just have to be smaller than the space available. When you fill them up they become stable, or if it is a pantry or shelves, it's also fine to have some "blank" space between the containers.

Never underestimate the power of tupperware for organizing fridge/freezer and drawers! I love those tall plastic bins (like for cereal) that come with 3 different sizes. I have a side-by-side fridge/freezer, and use the tall bins to get more space out of the door shelves. I use the big white rectangular baskets from DT to corral food by category, and there's just enough space to slide a couple of the smaller 'cereal bins' alongside the baskets. At least that way I'm pulling out baskets to shuffle through instead of a bunch of loose stuff falling out on the floor and my toes.

A good up-cycle - - - I found that empty kitty litter buckets work great for organizing my chest freezer. And they have a handle to lift them out with!

My hubby loves buckwheat pancakes. I ordered some pancake/waffle mix off of Amazon. Was just thinking earlier I would make pancakes for breakfast tmrw morning. Love it with maple syrup. And also, we just cleaned out our fridge freezer. I keep bins in it to keep stuff organized. We do have 2 freezers and 2 refrigerator freezers. I keep different things in each freezer also for organization.

I have a bottom freezer and I have the same issues. Years ago when I had a top freezer, I thought It would be so great to have a bottom freezer but I realized, I liked the top freezer better. But I am so envious of your big island to lay everything on to sort everything. I have small counter spaces and a small table.

Your freezer was incredibly clean and organized compared to what mine looked like the last time I cleaned it out lol. I have the same type of freezer. Not only was mine disorganized, but my kids like to open a bag of something (like French fries, nuggets, etc) and make a few then just toss the bag back in there. Which of course leads to crumbs and random chicken nuggets in the bottom. We also had what appeared to be a couple of freezer pops that leaked all over the bottom before they froze. That was fun.

We have a chest freezer, an upright, a garage fridge with a freezer on top, and out inside refrigerator freezer. We categorize each one. For instance, in our garage chest freezer it is all raw meat, in our garage refrigerator freezer it is all bread items, in our upright it is all freezer meals, butter, cheese, unopened veggies, ready to eat things, and then in our house freezer is opened packages of waffles and veggies, little bits of things I threw into baggies, frozen fruit, pizza toppings , and ice packs. This way I know where everything is and The only freezer that is kind of wonky is the house one.

Have you ever considered separating your freezers: chicken, beef, pork, and then veggies/fruits in the smallest? Then you can put freezer meals away based on the meat source in them in each freezer. Breads and cheeses can be put one freezer area together. Makes it so much easier to rotate items to ensure your cleaning out AND never wasting. Alternatively, I use storage bins from dollar tree...the ones with holes in them, to separate items since I only have one freezer.

I love seeing you and Haley working together on this project. You make me laugh so much. My freezer got so much stuff in it at one time the drawer wouldn’t close properly, which led to its own set of problems. Now the refrigerator has a problem with incontinence so I have to take everything out of freezer and fridge and find the hose that is blocked up and get it moving again. I love the idea of the containers. They would even work in my downstairs deep freeze because that is a chest freezer and it is impossible to find anything in the heap of disorganization that it is. Thanks for teaching me stuff while entertaining me!

I think the tall ones will get above the top a bit with stuff people pull in and out. I'd use the shorter ones. I just keep the things people will pull everyday in that bottom freezer, frozen fries, ice cream. Then once a week I pull stuff from my stand up freezer for the week. Small bags of veggies that I've opened. Stays pretty neat in there.

I agree with you...things dissappear in the bottom freezer. I've tried 'everything' to keep it organized. I finally decided the ONLY things to store there is opened packages & batch made breakie & lunches. Then at least i know where to look for that package of sausage i was SURE i had. (The deep freeze i have to climb in to).
