I like the scientific methods you use to compare products and methods. It works well for my style of learning.

Another adhesive that I obviously need. 😄 I recently got an "Add a Quarter" ruler, and it's proven to be a real time saver. These two products together will make for stress free FPP. Thanks!

You are so kind in the efforts you go to to help others. I have an ink jet printer, so I don't have the problems you talked about. Here in the UK, I could only buy the freezer paper online, and I had to buy 3 boxes to achieve a decent price. I have used it a few times and love it for the log cabins. I do find a thin metal ruler is best for creasing the lines as the plastic rulers are too thick to achieve an accurate line. I never thought of the rolling tool, so I will give that a go. Thank you, Mary. I really enjoy watching your tutorials.❤

Love this! Sold out in several online stores so I’m asking my local quilt store to start carrying it.

I think it's a great product and I'm not sure why it's not advertised more. I purchased mine at Missouri Star Quilt Co either in their "Machine Shed" store or in the JC Penney store (can't remember which one), but I didn't see it available online for purchase. Thanks for watching!

A tip when using sprays. Even outside or in a well ventilated space you can use a mask to decrease your chances of inhaling the spray. You can use a mask like the ones for sanding from the hardware store or a higher quality spray ventalator mask. I have a cute pink one. I use it when mixing dye powders for dyeing fabric and then thought i can use it for sprays too! Out lungs are important and worth protecting! A great investment.

New to me as well - and I was shocked at how well it worked. Make sure you let it dry completely before using it. It will feel like the back of fusible webbing - not tacky at all. Thanks for watching!

This is a game changer for FPP! One of the reasons I don't like FPP is the removal of the paper afterwards.

Looks like this might be more difficult than paper foundation paper piecing?? Or more cumbersome? Which one wld you chose to use? Thanks!!❤

Personally I prefer the paper foundation piecing method, but many prefer the freezer paper method. I have used both.

By pressing on the wool mat does that shorten the life of the freezer paper
@joyfulandmerryquilting
@joyfulandmerryquilting 4 ай бұрын
The waxy side doesn't come in contact with the wool mat, so I don't believe it would have any effect on how long you can use it.

Spray sounds great to use! What is cost for a spray can of Odif in figuring if more cost effective than freezer paper? Advantage would probably be less frustration in using spray than freezer paper :).
@joyfulandmerryquilting
@joyfulandmerryquilting 5 ай бұрын
I really think it's a great option. As for price, a can of the Odif 808 is $9.99. when purchasing one package of freezer paper it's about 0.25 - 0.30 per page which means you can buy about 1 1/2 cans of the Odif Spray for the same price as one package of 50 sheets of freezer paper. I know I could spray more than 50 sheets using 1 1/2 cans of the spray AND the wear and tear on my copier is worth it all by itself. Thanks for commenting and for watching!

What about a hera marker instead of the tracing wheel? I may try that. I don’t have a project planned just yet though.
@joyfulandmerryquilting
@joyfulandmerryquilting 5 ай бұрын
I couldn't get a good enough crease on the paper using the Hera Marker. I believe using the edge of a ruler and then folding it the traditional way works better if you don't have a tracing wheel. Thanks for watching!

Does anyone know about *Kate’s Applique Paper*? I got a large box 25 years ago, and I don’t know if they came out under another name, or just disappeared. A quilting daughter in San Francisco, and a paper engineer father (in Pennsylvania?) came together to rethink and vastly improve on freezer paper for quilters. It was thinner, stronger, and acid free. Perfect for foundation piecing, English Paper Piecing, applique, printing, and more. If anyone knows about this please reply. I think her name is Kate Louden (spelling?).

I'm sorry - I've never heard of that. My issue is printing it - the freezer paper just doesn't go through my printer easily. This is a better option for me. Thanks for watching!

I buy newspaper paper to do paper piecing. I get 100 sheets for around $10.00. I do tiny blocks so i am stitking with the paper

I do prefer foundation piecing using regular paper as well, but this is a great option for those who would rather not pull off the pieces of paper when finished.

You probably could, although I didn't try it. I'm not sure if the paper would be too flimsy at that point and you may just need another piece.
