Great video Dave. I have been doing HVAC for 37 years now and use to do commercial refrigeration many years ago and decided to just stick with the HVAC side of the trade about 29 years ago when I went into business for myself. I am still a one man operation and have a helper ( RockStar Brother) when I do HVAC system installs when I need him lol. I really enjoy watching your videos man and I am the guy who told you to paint your windows black and put Hockey Puck Locks on backdoor and side door lol. I was ripped off 2 times in the past 30 years so I am paranoid about my 12k+ of HVAC tools and test equipment in my van. I also live in Baltimore City Maryland the HEROIN Capital of the USA so just to many thieves in my town. I stopped using signs on my trucks and took out great Tool Insurance about 21 years ago and have been lucky so far. keep up the great job man and keep those awesome videos coming tool bro. PEACE MAN \m/\m/....

coolmandude1000 thanks. I did paint my window. Good advice, I have tool insurance also I live in the homeless capital of the world and all they do is steel and do drugs. And in CA they don’t get arrested anymore due to prop 47. It’s a total mess here and the smart people are moving away. Thanks for watching and for the good advice 👍👍

I’ve been using my probes just like your they are awesome, also the Measure Quick app you have to manually input the information but it gives you a ton of knowledge 👍🏻

Thanks for the walk thru on this.... I had an issue on a Sunday a couple of weeks ago and made a call out because I got nervous about $20k in product going bad.. walk in on the 4th floor and condenser outside on ground floor and service elevator down.. feel better about diving into it next time, already have both klix ons and a timer motor in stock. We have nine walkins in the the grandstand with fairly recent Trenton condensing units mated to some "legacy vintage" evaporators. Making the transition from F&B operations management to maintenance... Would rather deal with broken stuff than broken people!!

This kind of defrost , as you changed it, has function to energising the heaters and same time stops the compressor, or just Energizer's the heaters. Thanks.

Dave ! I have a call back on a 2 door beverage Air WTF67. They failed it for ice building up on the inside of the freezer doors. I changed the gaskets and found the face heaters disconnected in the door frame

most of the thermostats are read as 1st number "open" temp. and 2nd number is differential. so open @50F(minus 20F)=30F close. if it doesn't have the number as XX-XXF, then it may be actual open and close temps listed. chinesium parts maybe :)) ***of course opposite function if their normally open, vs. normally closed***
@NorCal-refrigeration7 жыл бұрын
throttle bottle you are correct it is 50 degrees and 30 degrees with 20 degrees differential. 👍

One thing I learned at my job is check rotation on all fans.....so many times I find them going wrong way or fan blade is backwards....
@ThomasBahamas6 жыл бұрын
I remember when I first started doing PMs on open cases, I think the first one I did (I took out the fan blades & scrubbed them really nice) I got a call back because I put one of the fan blades back on wrong. Older tech talked me through it & told me that on that specific case the concave groove on the fans face up. I also mark the face whenever I take them off. I wonder who you are following behind that this is a huge problem lol.

Great vid brother🤙🤙, hope you had a blessed new year and Christmas. Quick question on those 3 wires sense I’ve never messed with them. When it goes into defrost do the fans run momentarily until the bimetallic switch opens the fan circuit? And then once the coil gets warm enough “Ice completely melted “ it closes the n.o contacts on the termination side?
@NorCal-refrigeration7 жыл бұрын
brad hanks the fans stop right away in defrost from the defrost clock.

Love the videos man I’m a new tech start the trade I’ve learnt so much Question: for walkin cooler/ freezers wats the best drop in replacement for R-22 without changing the txv and also for A/C application
@sivalley7 жыл бұрын
Rio Washington For A/C I've been using 422b (Nu22b) because an oil change is not required in most cases. For refrigeration 407c is your best bet, but you need to change the compressor oil to POE.
@philltafolla7 жыл бұрын
Rio Washington Try 422D works great for refrigeration and A/C 😁

Does anyone here know the reason why those overhead evaporator styles low the supply air against the back wall and the return is in front. I’ve talk to one technical rep and he said that’s how they want them, it’s just different than a conventional style evaporator. Nice video thanks for posting it.
@NorCal-refrigeration7 жыл бұрын
billcv80 I know they want product In the box also for it to work correctly.
@kingofthecrease307 жыл бұрын
billcv80 ....norlake wants it that way because most customers especially a subway put storage racks in there and put so much product on the top shelf it would block up the return air...the return side of the grill its more in the middle of the box where they cant block it up...the idea is to have the discharge air off the evap coil hit the back wall and spread out but it still gets blocked by too much product on those racks they put in there. I never liked the capsule pack systems...too many problems with them
@billcv807 жыл бұрын
I’ve read the capsule paper about the airflow, just seems really lame. Anyone relocated the temp probe outside the return. One we have is t temping right around door, but back by supply all food temps. It’s a subway, lol
