"De-thawing" something means you're freezing it. To thaw something means to melt it from ice to a non-frozen state. Like thawing a pound of frozen ground beef to have it unfrozen in time to make dinner with it. You _thawed_ the hose so it would work. You didn't _de-thaw_ it. Tip for the hose. When you know its getting cold out, unhook it and run it down a small hill to drain or start at one end and run it over tour shoulder to the other end. This will alsoake your hose life last longer because water expands and will crack the rubber in the hose👍. Also let the water in the baloons freeze all the way!!!

Mix saw dust with the water, its called pycrete and was designed by the us military during ww2. It acts like rebar in concrete and will make the ice way less brittle. Theres a specific ratio you need to use. You might have a shot at making a sled.
