I struggle with it myself, but that mindset will only lead to friends who resent you I think (because you, deep down, recent them). Might as well be you who starts the positive cycle of support by supporting your friends. I think with most people it just feels natural to be kind towards people if they've done literally anything positive for you ever ^^ And honestly, at the end of the day that's not even what it's about. You don't help someone because you expect them to return the favor, you help them because you have the surplus of energy to do so and want to use it on helping someone else with their bullshit :)

Regarding the friendship discussion - I did the same thing to my group of friends after I had kids. Half of it was me being an introvert and using my free time to recharge. The other half was thinking that they didn't care at all about whether or not I was there. I made a mistake in not making my friendships a priority, and I'm trying to fix that now that my kids are old enough to play their own games on a Friday night. Just tried Freezing Vortex for the 1st time just cause it was my last duo boon and it wasn't bad actually. Got a decently easy clear even w/o Ares Legendary. It's miles better than just having slicing shot, but Hunting Blades is light years better. I'd say FV isn't a bad choice if you can't get HB but def go HB over FV every time.
